The airline deregulation provides significant benefits to an average traveler. This Act removed many of the airline restrictions and thus totally altered the concept of civil aviation in the US. Subsequent to the integration of jets into the market, the air travel industry experienced incredible growth rate. As a result of steady increase in air travel, the federal regulators were forced to deregulate the industry to meet the increasing needs of the air travelers. The airline deregulation process augmented market competition once the marketers got the freedom to determine their own prices. It also persuaded the airline providers to enter in price competition in order to dominate the air travel market. Reports point out the notable effects of deregulation- “the inflation adjusted 1982 constant dollar yield for airlines has fallen from 12.3 cents in 1978 to 7.9 cents in 1997. This means that airline ticket prices are almost 40% lower today than they were in 1978 when the airlines were deregulated” (Thierer, 1998). Since this trend offered fruitful economic benefits to passengers, the passenger miles flown tremendously grew. For instance, in 2005, there were 750 million passenger miles whereas this figure was only 250 million in 1978. The magnitude of market competition was more in Europe as compared to US. We built the front panel with the help of interactive controls and indicators. After the making of the front panel, we have given codes to each of the components of the front panel using graphical representations of functions in order to control the front panel objects. The block diagram helped us in giving graphical source codes to each component of the front panel. After giving the codes, we tested our programming and succeeded in getting the RPM and the voltage as expected. We made RPM control and target RPM in the front panel. We measured the RPM with the help of a box provided for the measurement of the RPM. Apart from the RPM measurement, we also plotted the waveform chart including amplitude and time. The device name, supply polarity, and the status are given at the top of the front panel, In order to plot the block diagram, we built a while loop in which everything was wired. The RPM control was connected to the target RPM with the help of wires whereas the waveform chart was wired with a combined signal. The combined signal was wired with the RPM measure and target RPM, and the RPM measured correctly. The w signal showed the loop condition in the while loop. A clean up code at the top of the block diagram, was wired to the while loop. At the same time, the device name and supply polarity were displayed at the left of the block diagram. In order to measure the RPM and voltage, we created a spreadsheet on MS Excel. A vertical line shown in the graph proved the direct relationship between the RPM and the voltage. In other words, when the voltage increases, the RPM also increases whereas when the voltage decreases, the RPM also decreases. To conclude, the purpose of this experiment was to control the DC motor speed and direction using NI ELVIS and Labview. After the completion of this experiment we were able to control both the DC motor speed and direction using NI ELVIS and

He was more than a mere political figure head- he was an ideological mind and individual. He did not focus his policies and doctrines on one single facet- rather he confronted the obstacles on multiple grounds which included the humane aspect. He advocated the general rights of mankind regardless of their tribe, color, race, religion and other associated ethnic affiliations. Mahatma Gandhi was the man behind the establishment of the Hindus representative party Congress. Mahatma Gandhi went on to become the founder father of India. He was also known as Bapu and he has been honored as the founder of the nation in the modern times of India (Woolever, p 15). His struggle stretches to the early days of the 20th century where he fought against the British rule on multiple grounds. His civil disobedience movement was one other world famous move and movement based on which he engaged the masses against the British ruling junta and asked for the clearly defined rights of the people of India. Mahatma Gandhi, unlike the other Muslim leaders demanded and desired a unified India on the exit of Great Britain. Different cost elements differ in the study perspective. Different researchers present interventions to determine the relevant cost measures that assess the economic value of patient navigation. The history of the patient navigation programs attributes to Harold Freeman the chair of American Cancer Society that commissioned the study of barrier to cancer among the poor in America. The success of the pioneer program and recognition of significant barriers to cancer diagnosis continue to exist among the minority and the underserved populations. Currently, many patient navigation programs work to reduce barriers to care at all levels. The growing popularity and publication of promising observational studies fail to evaluate the efficacy of navigator programs. Researchers are yet to establish the cost-effectiveness and the impact of navigation programs on cancer-related morbidity and survival. The patient navigator programs can be time and resource intensive. Moreover, certain benefits and services are provided to those who have been severely affected by human trafficking. It was in 1994 that the US started monitoring persons being victimized by trafficking in persons. This was mainly when the issue became prominent in Annual’s Country Reports on Human Rights Practices of the Department (Human Trafficking, 2012). Initially, the women and girls who were trafficked for sexual purposes were kept in the limelight. However, the situation has changed now and men, women and children who are being trafficked in any form of labor force whether it be agriculture, domestic service, construction work, or sweatshops are monitored on a constant basis (Human Trafficking, 2012).The human traffickers commit this act usually when the situation is critical and the police agencies cannot really do anything about it. For instance, when there were crisis in Lebanon, at that time the traffickers took 300000 people in their refuge. These people were mostly from Sri Lanka and Philippines. This was when the important people were busy being evacuated. In such circumstances, the police become handicapped and cannot take any action. The US should focus on having wide-ranging national policies and programs that will assist in preventing human trafficking- hence, the victims will be protected. Moreover, the police agencies should have strong networks so that the exchange of information regarding routes of traffickers as well as their profiles and the profiles of the victims could be easily tracked. On the contrary, a country that is in least need of a given commodity or produces the commodity locally will raise the rates of import tariffs for the particular product to discourage importation of the commodity (Korber 2000, p. 10). In the views of Riley (2006), economic protectionism can also be achieved through the imposition of quotas. A county in dire need of a particular commodity will actually lift import quotas to encourage further importation of the particular commodities. Conversely, a country that is capable of producing sufficient or relatively adequate amount of a given commodity for its economy may opt to lower the importation quotas of a given commodity (Riley 2006). Under serious circumstances, a country may impose embargoes declaring total ban on importation of a particular commodity (Riley 2006). Export subsidies for locally produced goods can also be used to encourage bulk production and importation of particular commodities into the economy (Korber, 2000, p. 9). Riley (2006) reports that, in the case countries are engaging in free trade, the government may opt to formulate preferential government procurement policy and state aid to ensure that it allocates spending that will only benefit domestic producers as opposed to foreign suppliers. Right after this thought, one would question the existence of humans on the face of the earth. Life is only sustained with the presence and use of language. And, it is only this use of language that has really shaped many cultures. In the early period of human evolution, people used to live in caves and mountains where they were in limited numbers. And, they had rare communication with people belonging to different tribes living away from them. And within these tribes, different languages were developing and people used to communicate with. Without any doubt, it was the role of language that considerably played its role to develop culture inside the tribe. Since then, language and culture are mostly intertwined- collectively they shape different ideologies, behaviors and attitudes of people living in different towns, cities provinces and countries. However, when it comes to comprehend the basic linguistic structures of a language in the modern era, for most of us, including me, it is not always going to be easy to understand the small threads of language. Essay - Domestic Violence and Developmental Psychology | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Masters There are three identified major perspectives in sociology that aim to evaluate diverse social phenomena: “the symbolic interactionist perspective, the functionalist perspective, and the conflict perspective. These perspectives offer sociologists theoretical paradigms for explaining how society influences people, and vice versa”. The aim of the current essay is to apply two of the three sociological perspectives, particularly the functionalist and the conflict theories in the topic, drug and alcohol abuse among teenagers. The functionalist theory focuses on the interdependence of each aspect of society and a determination of how each aspect is contributory to its effective functioning. The Sociology Guide emphasized that the functionalist approach contends that “order, stability and cooperation in society are based on value consensus that is a general agreement by members of society concerning what is good and worthwhile” . On the other hand, the conflict theory “focuses on the negative, conflicted, and ever-changing nature of society. The conflict model holds that the most important aspect of social order is the domination of some groups by others, that society is best understood as an arena of actual and potential conflict, and that when things look peaceful, it is only because one faction controls or dominates a particular scenario. The conflict perspective to drug and alcohol abuse have been explained in terms of specifically identifying which drugs are illegal and therefore tend to be highly susceptible to abuse.

Essay - Pop Culture | Subjects: Psychology - Ph.D. While this makes the presidency smooth to function, it also creates a fault line between the presidency and the other arms of the government, making the sharing of power by these three arms of the government more difficult.Needless to say, synergetic functioning of these three arms of the government is important because of a number of issues. First, the presidency is the only part of the government that is held by one individual and in cases where the individual fails to hold this office in high esteem such as was the case with Richard Nixon’s presidency, there is likely to be a very big damage. Secondly, the presidency needs checks and balances to be in place to always make sure that the integrity of the government is maintained. This leads to a paradox where the executive privilege of the presidency is needed abut at the same time is the risk that this privilege may be abused by office holders. The only solution, therefore, is to create boundaries that define which aspects of the presidency can benefit from these presidential privileges. However, creating these boundaries may not be easy since the functions that the president plays on a daily basis are versatile and not easy to handle. There have been many situations where the issue of presidential executive privilege has been put to trial. One of the most significant of this was the Richard Nixon’s presidency during his trial after he was charged with abuse of the presidential office. The court ruled that although the office of the president enjoyed the presidential privilege, this privilege was not absolute. In this case, where the court feels that the presidential privilege has more negative implications than positive ones, it may require the peeling off of these privileges. A similar decision was reached in Bill Clinton’s time where the court decided that the number of advisers that the president can have who are

Warfare welfare and citizenshipThe three terms warfare, welfare and citizenship largely influence each other, making it hard to analyse one without discussing the others. From a political perspective, scholars regard warfare as an ideological struggle in which people try to dominate their ideas over others. More often, many people refer to this struggle as propaganda or psychological contest to implement conditions in the political arena. Warfare is a broad field that encompasses various components, ranging from military operations, through morale warfare to psychological wellbeing of the citizens. The military struggle seems to harbour all the other aspects in a war such as propaganda and publicity. Nations for example, were eager to demonstrate their military prowess during World War I and II. It involved the use of military machines, political influence, religion and social integration among nations (Richards 2005).Welfare on the other hand entails the effort of a particular government to provide its citizens with economic security. As a result, a government guarantees its citizens with the fundamental necessities such as food, health care, shelter, security, as well as protection in the old age (Light n.d). The government fulfils this role using two methods. First is direct assistance, where it provides the citizens with their needs on a one-on-one basis. The other method is indirect assistance, where a particular administration implements programs that reduce problems faced by the citizens.

In most cases, statistical preventive analytical techniques are used to analyze and determine credit risk levels associated with loans and credits given to borrowers. Therefore, the significance of credit risk assessment is to reduce credit or loan defaulters. Adequate information about the credit users are often for the analysis of credit risk levels. This information is usually obtained from internal credit scoring systems. This system allows computation of personal information credit scores from credit reports (Camp 14). Such information is provided for by rating agencies or external credit bureaus. Notably, the credit scores often indicate an individual or organizations’ current and historical financial situation. These financial reports are then used to analyzing credit risk levels thereby determine credit defaulters (Grzymala-Busse 71). However, the internal credit scoring techniques do not define defective or ineffective score. Therefore, it does not predict the actual levels of risk associated with lending a person. The shortcomings of the internal credit scoring methods have been solved by the use of the Profiling risky credit segments. As far back as in the third century, Christians used to visit the Hold Lands to see the places of Christ’s life. Though the place was conquered by Muslim rulers, pilgrimages continued without my disruption as Caliph Harun al-Rashid accommodated Christian pilgrims. However, the situation went wrong when the Egyptian ruler of Palestine in the 11th century, known as Hakim, started torturing the Christian pilgrims. He destroyed Constantine’s Church of the Holy Sepulcher and declared himself as God incarnate2.The Turks were advancing with enormous power. By 1050, they had a state in Persia and within five years, they reached Baghdad and up to Aegean in Anatolia. Soon Byzantine was defeated at Manzikert and a new sultanate was started at Nicaea. In the year 1071, Jerusalem became a part of the new Seljuk state of Syria. It was in this disorder and anarchy that General Alexius I Comnenus came to power in Byzantine. As already known, there was a split between the Eastern and Western churches. So, Pope Gregory VII found it a good opportunity to unite the Churches by spreading the holy war to Asia. So, he offered to send an army of western knights under his own leadership to Byzantine. Similarly, Pope Urban II offered military help to Byzantine against Turks.Pope Urban II pointed out in his speech at the Council of Clemont in 1095 the hardships faced by the Eastern Christians and the pilgrims to Jerusalem. He declared that God would assist those who would fight for their brothers. Another declaration was that the sins of those who died in the work of God would be forgiven. Thus, enormous numbers of people joined the Crusade. Seeing the great Crusader armies, Turks surrendered Nicaea without a war. The crusaders advanced through Dorylaeum and soon, Edessa, a strategically important imperial city, was conquered and it became the first crusader state3.Soon, Jerusalem and Antioch were conquered by the Crusaders, and Baldwin of Edessa became the first king of

This paper outlines the crucial role of banks and stock markets in promoting growth and development in the modern world. After conducting the required literature review, the case study, pertaining to a global financial crisis, is discussed to critically verify the role of banks and stock market. The root cause of financial crisis was the loose monitory policy followed by the financial institutes of developed country like US and UK. The main aim of the banks was to provide easy loans at comparative lower rates. As soon as this strategy was introduced, the flow of capital increased and the liquidity position went high.Though the global economy was performing well but on the side the credit growth in the balance sheet of financial institutions also increased Banks paid less attention towards risk associated with loans at sub-prime rate. They used highly complex hybrid debt instruments without developing a proper method to analyse the risks. The policy of extensive use of sub-prime rates resulted into a bubble that burst in 2007. The poor condition of many banks created a state of liquidity crisis in the international stock market. Till mid of 2007, the stock market of US and UK was too bullish. People had ample capital to invest and thus liquidity was high. The failure of the banking system along with decline in the stock market performance created a state of harsh liquidity crisis in international market. The result was economic crisis in developed countries followed by fall in economic growth in developing nations. Such arguments have now resulted in the creation of a philosophical problem, the problem of induction that stands disputed, especially in case of the scientists that are in continuation of using this technique of considering limited number of instances to derive a universal formula. In order to understand the problem of induction, the example of swans will be evident to provide an effective understanding of the issue. By means of induction, it was a universal principle that swans are white, as few centuries ago, people had only seen white swans, and the scientists were inclined to derive the declaration that all swans are white. In this regard, scientists have until today continued to magnify specific observations to create common principles to carry out their planning for prospects of the physical world. However, the major argument of the adversaries of this methodology argues regarding the validity of such suppositions based on only finite observations. Until today, various experts2 have argued over the problem of induction- however, historical evidence indicates that David Hume was the first person to inquire about this issue, and carry out analysis accordingly. During his analysis, he wrapped up by saying that inductive suppositions do not carry any logical explanations, and thus, it is incorrect for scientists to originate universal theories based on such finite observations3.In response, various philosophers endeavored to come up with a solution- however, this problem of induction has remained a major problem in the Western philosophy due to its disputed nature. In this regard, Hume enjoys huge number of advocates until today- however, few of the experts have criticized Hume’s critique on the problem while concluding that although such inferences do not carry justifications4. However, it is erroneous to specify that science depend on the

The divorce rate in the United States has been rising. One rough estimate suggests that almost half of all marriages in the United States result in divorce. But what is worth noticing is that many people try to find happiness and joy in their lives by getting remarried. One research, on the other hand, points out that people who undergo divorce will not be able to fully recover from the trauma that they face. The shock that people experience and its implications on their minds and body is immense and may repair but in the long run will surface one way or the other. People who go through a divorce find it incredibly excruciating to recover from the pain. In many cases, it can not only cripple a person financially, but also makes it tough to socialize. And these effects are apparent in a few individuals even when a person remarries as these instances remain like old scars. The research also pointed out that the people who have been divorced will be more prone to develop chronic conditions like health problems, obesity and diabetes and find themselves limited in movement compared to people who are still successfully married. So at the ripe age of six, I began with what would become a life-long pursuit of trying to be the best soccer player I could be. I tried my luck at baseball one year but found it too unexciting and dry. I also tried a year of football in order to meet my father’s wish for me to become as good a football player as he was, but it just was not meant to be. Soccer, it was! And I remember the awkwardness of stumbling onto the field as a young child. But I persevered and showed up for every practice determined to be the best player I could be. My parents have been super supportive of my soccer career and have taken me to those ungodly 8 am games to sometimes traveling hours to play in a tournament. One can say we made it a family affair. After many years of playing for our local recreational league I decided to try out for my high school soccer team. I was pretty confident knowing I would make a great addition to the team. After all I have been playing soccer longer than most of my team mates trying out. However what I did not count on was my lack of preparation. I had spent most of summer that year at home playing a lot of video games and hanging out with friends while my friends were preparing for soccer tryouts. My Dad strongly encouraged me to join the cross country team so I would be conditioned and get in shape for tryouts but I ignored his advice. So there I was again, staring at the list. How could this have happened? In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure”. I can assure you that I was not content with my failure that day. Success for me is defined as preparation, commitment and motivation to achieve my goals. I hope to apply this valuable lesson to my college experience. I know there will be successes as well as a few failures but as long as I remember that there is always something to be learned by both. May be I will not

They can make use of another category of students who understand the written notes to explain to them in words. In such groups, the students exchange ideas and concepts as they hear again and again from the word of mouth. However, for the aural student to achieve maximum knowledge, the discussion has to be a two-way traffic- a give-and-take principle. The student who prefers aural learning style must also talk as he explains his ideas to others. As he talks, he also gets to hear his voice speaking the concepts in his brain. Such students may as well make use of a tape recorder while attending a lesson in class. The tape recorder would then be played later by the student as he listens to the voice to the very voice of the teacher over and over again. The student can also remember the examples given by the teacher in class through relevant stories and jokes. The only drawback for this student is that he tends to have poor and incomplete notes since he prefers audio to notes. The lifting and dropping of the limbs during a jog arises from the ability of the skeletal muscles. The tendons in both the leg and the arm lift various parts of the limbs at the various synovial joints.Synovial joints foster the movement of various body parts in humans. The aural students can also learn best by forming discussion groups among themselves.
