Indeed, the housing problem in the United States needs to be addressed. Unless the housing industry recovers, US economy cannot be considered as being out of economic crisis. At the onset, the bill looks novel and positive because it intends to solve the housing problem without any cost to the Federal Government. This however comes with a price of citizenship to foreigners whom we do not know and being such, might bring in unintended problems (Sarner). This necessitates a close scrutiny of the proposed bill if its intended benefits outweigh its projected issues. In addition, there is already a similar program in placed and one cannot help but ask, “what is really new with this bill?”Cost benefit analysis of the proposed bill under the lens of economics. The first question that needs to be addressed is whether such bill will solve the housing problem in the US without first considering other factors such as security and social service. Scrutinizing it strictly under the lens of economics, the bill seems to be promising. The rest of the world especially China has performed relatively well compared to the United States (2% GDP compared to China’s 9.7% in the first half of 2011) in terms of combating the economic crisis and being such, it has the economic capability to make such purchase. Economically, it seems to be a win-win solution because it is beneficial to the foreigner who is going to buy the house for he or she also gains an extended stay. It is also beneficial to the US economy as it stimulates demands to the slumping housing industry. <strong>Essay - the Holocaust | Subjects: History - Undergraduate</strong>Personal Statement - Nursing Care Reflexive Practice | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Masters

This is where triage comes into play. Some people do not need as much help as some others do. It is also important to recognize that you have to meet the needs and help the patient not only right after the disaster, but also continuous checkups after the incident to make sure they are coping properly and mental illnesses have not developed (Saleh, 1996). Two of the main trauma setting points in current United States history was the natural disaster known as Hurricane Katrina and the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers on September 11th. Hurricane Katrina had an enormous impact on the United States when it realized that it was ill equipped to deal with this natural disaster. It destroyed the city of New Orleans, killed many people and left many scarred and homeless. It also destroyed everyone’s possessions as well as destroyed the financial stability. Due to the United States inability to diagnose the situation easily and act quickly, many people were without food, water, and other services for days. People were dehydrated and malnourished in addition to other physiological and psychological conditions. This would produce a fairly traumatic experience. s and responsibilities of senior management, the crucial problems that affect success in the total enterprise, and the decisions that determine the direction of the organization and shape its function”. Policies and strategic management are responsibilities of the chief executive officer (CEO). A major task under these responsibilities is corporate governance which is simply defined as “controlling, restraining and directing the making and administration of these policies” (Webster 1997).In health care, like in any other enterprise, administrative issues that affect the relevant structures of the health institution are ultimately governed by the CEO or the board of directors. It is in this regard that this paper aims to examine a specific administrative issue that required the skills and professional expertise of the CEO to steer the health organization’s direction towards the attainment of its goals. The mission of one of the top ten hospitals in Asia is to improve the delivery of quality health care conforming to the strict standards of the Joint Accreditation Commission of Health Organizations (JACHO). It came to the attention of the Vice President for Nursing that their Nurse Managers are torn between prioritizing functions which are administrative in nature vis-à-vis functions that cater to the delivery of patient care. Due to the Nurse Managers’ theoretical orientation for health care, the administrative tasks such as completion of reportorial requirements, monitoring and upkeep of equipment and supplies, staff requirements and budgeting are frequently neglected or seconded with priorities being focused to patient care.Every nursing unit in the hospital is headed by a nurse manager who is assigned as the chief head nurse on duty. Her job responsibilities entail patient care as the primary task and managerial functions such as planning, directing, staffing and control. These multi-task functions coupled with low pay contributed to low

Essay - field classroom description | Subjects: Education - Undergraduate The case was mainly orchestrated by Homer Plessy, and on 7 June 1892, he bought a first class ticket at the Press State Depot and boarded the car that was reserved for only white people on the East Louisiana Railroad. The railroad company, which opposed the law on the grounds that it would require the purchase of more railcars, had been informed already as to Plessy's racial lineage. Plessy was asked to vacate the seat when he took it on the train bound to Covington and he refused to do so and was immediately arrested. The train was then stopped and Plessy was remanded for a trial in Orleans. He then argued that his rights as per the Thirteenth and the Fourteenth Amendment had been violated and that he had been discriminated against. Legal issues: Upholding of the constitutionality of state laws requiring racial segregation in public facilities under the doctrine of ‘separate but equal’. Majority opinions: Decision handed by a vote of 7 to 1 with the majority opinion written by Justice Henry Billings Brown. Plessy’s arguments were rejected which were based on the Fourteenth Amendment with a decision that the state of Louisiana did not violate racial laws and a view was rejected stating that the state implied blacks to be inferior and merely contended that under the purview of public policy, the two races should be separated.

Essay - Country Report | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Undergraduate Several factors can be considered to be behind the changing trends that have been witnessed and that are yet to be witnessed at the local and global scenes. One of the factors that led to the changing growth pattern of the economy at the beginning of the millennium was the introduction of the emerging market into the world market. The increased industrialization in various countries like India and China led to increased demand for various products in those markets. Business organizations took the advantage of the available opportunities to invest in the given regions. These regions were attractive as there were still cheap labour and availability of the raw materials for the production companies. The increased employment rates in those regions initiated the economic growth. There was a rise in the in the living standards with more demand on products like energy and food in the region. This demand surpassed the supply of the products thereby forcing the prices of the products to rise. This could be the reason that led to economic recession towards the end of the last decade. Another factor that affects the economic growth is the competition that is witnessed among different organizations in the global markets. The following sections of the current paper detail the characteristics of the child, his developmental delay, and some possible interventions that may be taken to help alleviate or totally resolve the problem. I. Description of the Child and the Disability The boy who is four years of age, internationally adopted from China at three months of age, demonstrates an obvious speech disorder and expressive language delay noted at 8 and 20 months of age, respectively. Based on his records, his mother conceived him at age 30, and was not hospitalized or medicated during pregnancy. Therefore, factors such as gender, heredity, and environment (Norbury & Tomblin, 2008) may be considered as the roots of the problem. The surrogate mother of the child, who has taken care of the boy since birth, serves as the main source of information and child support. The mother is a housewife who never goes out except to do some grocery or pay bills. Although the surrogate father willingly provides support to his wife, he is the only one working for the family, is usually out, and comes home at night after office hours. Therefore, aside from the mother, the child has no one to interact with at home. At first, interracial and interethnic marriages met a lot of resistance in many societies. An example is America where many states instituted the antimiscegenation laws. These laws prohibited interracial marriage. Despite these laws, many children were born out of relationships between Blacks and whites, including black slaves and their white masters. By 1950s, many states had removed such statutes leading to a great rise in interracial as well as interethnic marriages. Such a freedom is worth celebrating although it is disturbing to note the level of marital instability among interracial couples as compared to same-race couples. Throughout this paper, the term interracial marriage will be used to refer to a marriage between people of different racial backgrounds whereas the term interethnic marriages will be used to refer to marriage between people of different ethnic background. Essay - Essay on The Reconstruction | Subjects: History - High school According to Pratt, psychology describes mental processes by putting observations into communicable terms, “generalizing them into empirical laws, and explaining the particular by the general.” (Pratt 2005, p29) This variable enables psychology to be easily recognized as scientific because, as Pratt, emphasized, it covers a systematic description of verifiable facts of human experience. Here, the recognition was based on a looser meaning of science because once one followed a strict definition- it could only leave the field of mathematics as the only true scientific field. The natural sciences would certainly be disqualified because of they are limited in the degree by which they can provide perfect and exact predictions. Psychology must take into account the humanistic principle that, according to O’Boyle, emphasizes the intuitive and emotional aspects of human experience besides the rational. (O’Boyle 2006, p162) But what makes it scientific and distinct from the philosophical approach is its use of scientific methods. As a science, psychology is bound to deal with facts about human behavior and that its main objective is to provide a scientific explanation regarding the reasons and motivations behind an individual’s behavior in a particular environmental context.

The hypocrisy of the Jews was cited in Chapter 2, where the laws, referring to the commandments, was not followed by those expected to follow them. This chapter also emphasized on God’s impartiality in judgment, with the Jews of equal footing with the Gentiles, even if they are the chosen nation (USCCB, 2011). Chapters 3 to 5 talks about our co-existence with sin and God’s love for all human beings and His judgment on all sinners. The righteousness of God and of man was justified through the lives of Abraham and Isaac, where they have devoted themselves to the Lord and their faith has led themto be favored. Similarly, Paul clearly stated that all human beings will be given what we deserve. The judgment that will be brought to us, will depend solely on our faith and actions, and not on what nation we belong to. Chapter 5 also emphasized on humanity’s redemption because of God’s love for us and the reconciliation that brings us to peace with God (USCCB, 2011). Universality of Sin Sin,in St. Paul’s epistle, was considered as a general term for all actions deemed as evil, or against the laws. It pertains to the force which engulfed humanity and engages itself in selfish desires (USCCB, 2011). Research Paper - Author and Illustrator. Mo Willems | Subjects: Literature - College

Thus, the researchers perceived that delving into the empirical experiences of the nurses could contribute in the development in the theoretical formations that could enhance the nursing curricula (Sharif et al., 2005, p. 1-7). However, at the outset, the researcher clarified that they are limited to 90 respondents only from a university and only their responses were used in categorically qualifying the answers for data analysis. The answers were categorized using themes (Sharif et al., 2005, p. 1-7). These are (a) point of view, (b) initial clinical anxiety, (c) theory-practice, (d) clinical supervision, and ( e ) professional roles (Sharif et al., 2005, p. 1-7). Introduction In this study, which is subject of my critical review, the researchers extensively defined clinical experience in nursing education.

In that case, research study may contribute awareness and familiarity, as well as necessary action in handling patients, especially children, with lupus. Relevance of Kidney Disease in Children with Lupus Introduction Systematic Lupus erythematosus (SLE), or Lupus, in its simple term, is a chronic autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disease is an illness that occur when the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and functions abnormally by attacking various normal and healthy tissues of the body. The body’s immune system is designed to fight bacterial agents and other foreign microbes, or antigens, that entered into human body. Under normal function, the body’s immune system produces antibodies that are made up of proteins to protect and fight the antigens such as viruses and bacteria. In lupus patients, the immune system produce abnormal antibodies in their blood. With abnormal antibodies, immune system is now unable to distinguish healthy tissues from antigens, therefore the immune system will direct the antibodies against healthy tissues rather than the foreign infectious agents or antigens, causing swelling, pain, and damage to body tissues and organs such as skin, kidneys, blood, heart and lungs (Shiel & Stoppler, n.d.) . Only if the employees’ are physically fit and importantly mentally motivated, they can optimally contribute their skill, knowledge and hard work for the success of the organisation. So, through performance management, the employees can be optimally motivated to provide optimal contribution. As part of performance management, the organisation, management, leaders and managers has to implement certain steps or strategies. These performance management strategies will surely elevate the employees’ motivation and make them productive. However, while implementing these strategies, there will certain pitfalls or problematic issues, which could hamper the strategies from reaching logical conclusion. That is, these issues will cause certain problems, which could make these strategies unsuccessful. So, although performance management strategies will lead to many positives for the organisation, there will be some difficulties in aptly implementing it, and this paper will examine this issue by focusing on the performance management strategies in each aspect of organisational functioning.Performance management refers to commitment by managers to achieve highest performance levels. Managers should take responsibilities to eliminate road blocks to success by providing sufficient resources and be careful in employee selection process as well as being ready to provide adequate rewards valued by employees (Cascio, 1996). The activities conducted by managers before, during and after interviews of performance feedback entail roles before interviews including communication with employees on their performance by coaching them, giving feedback and communicating performance efficiency. During interviews, the manager should avoid judging individuality of the employees and ponder on performance in order not to discourage

Research Paper - Author and Illustrator. Mo Willems | Subjects: Literature - College African American women are tempted by cars, houses and money if they take care about white and rich children, but in reality they have to look 24/7 after the children and have no days off. People, hiring domestic workers for dirty work in America very often beat their housemaids and nannies. How does it happen in the modern America? The scheme of exploitation is rather simple: employers confiscate passport and other documents of the coming women and sign a contract, where low paid working hours and hard work are described (Zarembka, p. 4). There are no even appropriate words to describe cruelty, sexual and physical assault practiced by employers against their hired housekeepers or nannies. Therefore, women from ethnic minorities or immigrants are often treated as “simple creatures” or even “slaves”. Domestic workers are hired by individual boss and it is hard for legal institutions to protect the rights of those “creatures”, hidden in private houses. These people from developing countries are looking for a better chance for life and they go to America “to make their dream come true”. In reality, as we can see in the film “Maid in America”, these women live their children in their developing countries and come to America for cleaning and bringing up children of other women.

These social media categories serves the organizational communication to its intended audience. Its intended audience could be the organization’s members and officers and in the case of a business organization, to its target market, shareholders, potential customers and regulatory agencies. The use of social networking does not only provide an interactive web presence but also reinforces the positive image of the company by informing the public about the organization’s products, services and activities including its business practices that would reflect good corporate citizenship consistent with the practice of ideal organizational communication. Theories of organizational communication posits that organizations need to relay itself not only with its internal customers (employees) but also with the external customers not only the positive activities that made them as organization but also the values that help shape the organization thereby fostering not only understanding about the company but also reinforces its positive image as well (Dainton and Zelley, 2005). Social networking as a function of social media is also an excellent platform to communicate corporate culture that animates the organization enabling its intended audience to understand and relate with the company better.Another social media category that can benefit an organization from a communication management perspective is the search category such as Google and Bing. This is essential because search engine ranking establishes the web presence of the organization. If the organization cannot be found on the search engine either through plain search or links, it would also be tantamount to being absent in the web. Even if the organization has an excellent website or social media page, it would be tantamount to nothing if it cannot be reached by its intended audience. In organizational communication, it is essential that the message of the

Introduction Stem cells are those cells with the ability to revitalize all body cells and to specialize into different cell types like nerve, blood and muscle cells despite being undifferentiated cells. For instance, in five-day-old embryos there are embryonic stem cells, which bring about the various cells and organ of the embryo. On the other hand, because of their pluripotent characteristic, the embryonic stem cells are able to single out along each of the three germ layers of cells in the embryo and create the germ line. In addition, the embryonic stem cells are very important for various purposes in biomedical and scientific research. Among the various functions of stem cells, include dealing with basic questions in developmental biology (Hyun, 2008). In addition, for the patients with degenerative disease or have an injury, the cells could replace the damaged or sick cells. Until lately, research has been using the stem cells from excess or rejected embryos stored at in-vitro fertilization clinics (Reaves, 2001). Some studies indicate that it is possible to funnel embryonic stem cells to grow into heart muscle cells that clump together and pulse in spooky unison in a laboratory. Elders define the concept of life quality by the following notions: day-to-day life, good people, at my age, living with loss, keeping healthy, and the future. Good people are those, who surround and support the elders during their life. Good people usually include family, friends, neighbors, home-helpers and so forth. The priority is given to the family. The members of the family provide physical and emotional support to the elders, creating the atmosphere of secure and comfortable time spending. Friends are no less important elements of their life quality. They are characterized by the mutual support and casual interaction. Home helpers are considered as those, who provide the comfortable life conditions and help for the elders. They usually provide the services of household, practicing the skills of socialization. The next important point of the life quality is day-to-day life. This concept includes looking for elder’s home and community. Here belong the daily obligations of every housekeeper and their qualitative execution. Keeping health touches the issues of the individual condition of state and spirit of the elder. Different people have different views on the issues of health. Some consider it as useful meals and regular walking, while others prefer pills and medical examinations. However, both of these opinions include the notion of keeping health as one of the main indicators of life quality. Living with loss includes the loss of close people and touches the issues of loneliness. At my age comprises the analysis of life experience of the elder, his best ideas and worse mistakes. The community-based service greatly influences the life of elder people. It includes coordinating services (for example, all-inclusive care programs), personal care services (the work of home-health agencies working with disabled or blind people at home), nutrition (home delivery of meals), transportation

Moreover, the kinds of issues raised by this saga are concentrated on interesting for this social group ordinary relations within family and school institutions, romantic love, and superpowers. Thus, analyzing this text enables discovery of the main messages that are accepted by contemporary adolescents in terms of Hollywood cultural industry, Twihards fan culture, and phenomenon of contemporary globalization process. For this purpose, both text written by Stephanie Mayer and its film adaptation are considered in the current research. In case of Hollywood cultural industry, the way the screening of Twilight saga happened was made in a standardized way described by Theodor Adorno. In this context, regular referring to the movie’s celebrities in general and romantic real love between main actors in particular is reflected in the usual way Hollywood movies are promoted nowadays. Therefore, the way Twilight Saga was presented on the screen determines the whole context of teenagers’ behavior and ideals in the society. As for fan culture, the fact that most Twihards (Twilight fans) have female gender corresponds with the observation made by Henry Jenkins on distinguishing eroticized fans from all the others. But, this approach should applied not only on exotic forms of culture but also in such an ordinary case of customer culture. Thus, the fan communities should be also considered from the Gender Studies perspective. Finally, contemporary globalization with the phenomenon of “eating the other” stated in Hook’s essay is literally used in Twilight. In particular, Edward Callen and all the members of his family have extremely white skin. Moreover, they are superior to all the others as they are able to kill by eating blood. And so, in this case Hook’s theory can be applied even more accurately than the author supposed to use it.In context The recent measurements are directly collected. It takes a lot of time and resources (financial and otherwise) to collect the data, the data is not always very accurate and hence a lot of approximation is used, high technology equipment are required, shipment challenges of the equipment as well as health and safety risks of the scientists.Technology has made it possible to obtain indirect data and infer the results dating back thousands of years. It has also made it possible to store samples for future scientific analysis and historical

Research Paper - Gender Analysis | Subjects: English - College Important aspects in the development of any construction Designing, planning and constructions are important aspects in the development of any building, highways, airports, dams and railroads. Therefore, it is significant to first of all, clearly design, plan and construct what needs to be achieved and accomplished and then start working on the construction. If the designing and planning phase are not managed appropriately, then it could significantly hurt and damage the outcomes of the project. Moreover, such situations could also increase the cost, outcome and time of the project (Chan, Scott, & Chan, 2004). This has been one of the reasons why the project managers emphasize a lot on the initial designing and planning stage before moving to the actual construction phase of the project. This report presents the case of a client that owns a two-storey building. The client wants to increase the available area of the building and therefore, he wants to add three more storeys to the same building. For this purpose, this report presents the conceptual design of adding three more storeys to the building. At the time of planning, designing and construction, there are some considerations that have been kept in mind. For instance, one of the major considerations is that the site is suited in open countryside and as a result, there will be high wind as well with an approximate speed of 1 kN/m2. However, amid the innovativeness and creativity to generate such new strategies such as distinct mobile phone features, capability, speed, memory capacity and so forth, there has been a clash between the principal firms. Ultimately, the aim of each company is not only to stay relevant but to remain dominant in the market as well.In a number of studies by prominent researchers such as Michael porter, Bowman’s, Johnson’s, McKenzie’s etc on the marketing strategies, they have made some influential marketing models to analyse the reign in competitive market spheres. For instance, in Porter’s generic strategies, he proposed three stratagems of cost leadership, focus and differentiation (Porter, 2007). Through the three strategies, Porter intends to show that the profit of the firm is basically the difference between its returns and cost. Thus, high profitability is achievable through attaining lower costs or higher prices with reference to the competition, meaning that a company can earn a price premium through differentiation (de Kluyver, 2010). In line with Porters’ and other models by other researchers, I seek to critically evaluate some of the analytical processes against three major mobile manufacturing companies. The purpose of this study paper is to not only evaluate the models, but also explore the merits and demerits associated with each of the analytical processes with regard to the telecommunication industry. The methodology of this paper will be an evaluation of the analytical process, followed by application of the firms and conclusion of each with the scepticism of demerits experienced of the processes. In addition, will be an assessment of the number of ways to mitigate the deficiencies of the models if any. A case study of this assessment paper is on three major mobile manufacturing

Students who may have not performed as required in high school need to pursue developmental courses to boost their high school diploma so as to be able to gain entry to college courses. Primarily, developmental courses have been developed to enhance certain skills among students before being accepted to do math courses in college. Policymakers and faculties of higher education recognize that there is inadequate preparation for students in high schools, thus fails to meet the demands of college courses. Moreover, success of higher education among students is dependent on adequate performance of students in high school diploma. Nevertheless, diverse nature of college courses with regards to their academic demands and expectations contributes largely to lack of understanding among high school diploma graduates (Chinwah 1).Studies have carefully analyzed geometry, statistics, data analysis and algebra skills required for success in math courses in college. Comparisons have been made with the skills needed for training in job opportunities that offer wages and salaries that are sufficient for survival of families of at least four. Math skills gained from high school diploma is considered a necessity for average and good living standards among human beings, since many occupations that offer the so-called sufficient salary require high school diploma as the necessity skills. Therefore, governments need to put in place policies that ensure all high school graduates attain particular skills necessary for higher education success. Policies have been enacted with regards to the clear understanding that math courses are very important for college courses (Heather, Rose, Betts and Julian 7).Most students are proved to having undertaken all the required courses they need to get a high school diploma without being fully qualified for success in math courses in college. Right after this thought, one would question the existence of humans on the face of the earth. Life is only sustained with the presence and use of language. And, it is only this use of language that has really shaped many cultures. In the early period of human evolution, people used to live in caves and mountains where they were in limited numbers. And, they had rare communication with people belonging to different tribes living away from them. And within these tribes, different languages were developing and people used to communicate with. Without any doubt, it was the role of language that considerably played its role to develop culture inside the tribe. Since then, language and culture are mostly intertwined- collectively they shape different ideologies, behaviors and attitudes of people living in different towns, cities provinces and countries. However, when it comes to comprehend the basic linguistic structures of a language in the modern era, for most of us, including me, it is not always going to be easy to understand the small threads of language. In the subsequent parts of this reflective essay, first, I have included my first meeting with the English Language and its different linguistic threads such as grammar and so on. Second, my observations about the internet literacy are accounted for, and it is followed by the summary of this reflective essay. If they do seem to contradict, it is because either the scientists... or the theologians... have strayed out of their realm of competence.” (Albl 95) It is with these principles that I find that science and faith, instead of constantly bickering with their respective doctrines, should work separately and independently, thus creating concepts of choices for mankind’s preferred beliefs. The mentioned principles are actually interrelated with one another. The first one implies that science and religion have their own precepts that, if tampered upon by the other, inevitable clashes would be produced because of their contradicting points of view about the natural world. The second principle further solidifies the pretext set by the first. It implies that contradiction should never be created out of the two independent fields and if such event happens, a deliberate breach in their respective intellectual precepts and faculties would occur.I find both principles relevant because they set the boundaries for the imminent conflict between the scientific and the religious sectors. Conflict will only be produced if and only if one side tries to penetrate the border of the other thus, undermining his or her intellectual faculties. Studying the set of principles presented by the respective fields, it can be said that the rational domain of science destroys the sacramental beliefs of the religious world. In a sense, logic and the use of physical sciences overrule the sacred doctrines about God’s creation and existence. The principles that I have chosen are important because they try to point out that science and religion will never get along unless one concedes to the other. It establishes the fact that respect for each other’s beliefs and doctrines should be propagated in order to avoid conflict. The significance of the principles above had been given justice through the author’s example about

Essay - Read argument assignment | Subjects: English - Masters According to the Collins English Dictionary (2003), formative assessment is the “ongoing assessment of a pupil’s educational development within a particular subject area. Sadler (1999) defines it as the kind of assessment whose intention is to generate feedback so as to improve and enhance students’ learning. This kind of assessment helps development of knowledge, skills and abilities and also enhances understanding without necessarily having to pass any final testing (Black and Wiliam 2003). Formative assessments are learner centered, which means that their goal is to help the student make maximum progress in the learning process. According to the Collins English Dictionary (2003), formative assessment is the “ongoing assessment of a pupil’s educational development within a particular subject area. The assessments are appropriate for primary school children as they embrace the educational objective domains of Blooms taxonomy: psychomotor, affective and cognitive. The cognitive domain that is enhanced by formative assessments revolves around the comprehension, knowledge and ability to critically think about a subject. The psychomotor domain is all about the ability of the pupil to physically manipulate instruments in the learning process.
