(2) About how many people attended the meeting? Describe the audience demographics. This event drew an immense number of audience members. Unlike a private event, this debate was aired live, on multiple networks, allowing for, easily, millions of viewers. The demographics of the audience of this event are as diverse as the country we live in. Americans of all genders, races, political parties, and ideologies were tuned in to view this debate. (3) What was the main topic of the meeting? The topic of the debate was announced as domestic policy. Lehrer explained that there would be, ideally, six segments of 15 minutes in length, with 2 minute responses from each candidate. Three segments would focus on the economy- one segment would be dedicated to healthcare, role of government, and the last on the meaning of “governing.” I choice this event, particularly, because of it is so very important. There are issues being discussed that are so incredibly relevant to the future of this country that it is an event deserving of critical attention. This is, also, again, the first debate where these two candidates would be debating these issues face-to-face in an open forum. There are a lot of important questions that need asking, issues that need addressing, and answers that the voters deserve to hear. Research Paper - Senufo Kponyungo Mask | Subjects: History - UndergraduateAssignment - South Korea Market | Subjects: Macro & Microeconomics - Undergraduate

Apparently, the rise of Arab Spring depicts the necessity of change in the Arabian world to mitigate its political, economic as well as social jeopardy. Contextually, similar to other revolutionary actions maneuvered by humankind since ages, the consequences of Arab Spring has also been considered under intense scrutiny all around the world. However, till date, from an overall perspective, the consequences of Arab Spring have been referred as quite favorable to the Arabian economic conditions. One of the necessary and arguably positive outcomes of Arab Spring can be identified as the political reformation of Arabian nations, with greater emphasis on their democratic rights.

Opportunity recognition is the ability to discern or identify a premise or an idea that may afford one to gain profit or advantage. G. T. Lumpkin describes it as “the ability to identify a good idea and transforms it into a business concept that adds value and generates revenues (2005)”. It is said to be a crucial element in business entrepreneurship (Ozgen,2011), and has been the subject of numerous research and theories by business scholars and researchers because of the various arguments and interpretations attributed to it. Opportunity recognition is based on the premise that profitable business is ever present (Blue, 2010) around us, but they are only recognized by people with cognitive, entrepreneurial mind-set, that is, people who have the genetic predisposition to recognize opportunities when they see one, because of their inherent, genetic thought processes.

Therefore from the three levels of the job categories it shows that the ASM record the highest probability of job stability (Heneman et al., 2012).The promotion paths and rates are based on the staff at level 1, and 2 being promoted to the job categories in level 2 and 3. Consequently, the probability of SF being promoted to ASM is 0.05 and SP is 0.1 from the data collected. The ASM is to RSM with the probability of 0.1. Therefore, the likelihood of part-time employees being promoted to the assistant sales manager is high compared to the staff in full time. The promotion path is from the low-level employees to the highest level- hence it is not possible to promote the employees in level 1 directly to level 3 (Heneman et al, 2012).Transfer paths involve the full-time and part-time employees on level 1. The probability of being transferred from full time to part time is 0.1 and from part-time to full-time is 0.05. Therefore, the rate of transfer from full time to part time is high (Heneman et al, 2012).Demotion involves the assistant and regional managers whereby their rank is in the company. It is the largest UK airport in the current context as well as being the busiest airport across UK. Despite the state of the airport, there are many incidents and accidents that have been reported in the airport as a result of either bad weather, mechanical problems or human errors. To minimize these incidences, Business Continuity Management Systems have been adopted in order to ensure that the incidences are prevented in the future. One of these strategies should incorporate the aspect of risk management in order to ensure that disasters are prevented before they occur. This essay puts into perspective some of the interventions that can be adopted in order to prevent the effects of adverse weather on the aviation sector that end up affecting a number of industry players. To help us put this into perspective, a consideration of the cases that have confronted Heathrow Airport will be placed into context. The recent disappearance of a Malaysian airplane has created fears on the safety of the aviation industry. The sector has remained to be one of the major drivers of the world economy- hence, its importance cannot be overemphasized. Mechanical and personal errors have resulted to occurrence of several incidences across the world. The possibility exists that the “discipline and punish” mentality operating overtly and subtly in academic institutions publicly and privately may be more related to social hierarchies, engrained power structures, systems of status, and the needs of capitalist production facilities than a genuine valuing of the human being as a unique and free individual, as the work of the French Philosopher Michel Foucault suggested.

President Obama’s current regime is aiming to increase health care facilities for all Americans and reduce the discrepancies or the difference of standard in health care provided to citizens of various socio-economic backgrounds. Hence, President Obama has set up the health care program for the nation, which enables everyone in the USA to have access to health insurance and receive standard treatment for illnesses and ailments. While this program is beneficial, and the USA is a nation suffering from several illnesses such as obesity, cancer, AIDS, and many other terminal illnesses, there have been strong criticisms against the program. The program is designed to take a substantial amount of taxes from the taxpayers to facilitate the provision of health care facilities to all the citizens of the United States (Brook, 1998). Many people in the USA are suffering from terminal illnesses and other physical disorders and do not have enough funds to purchase proper treatment for them. Charity hospitals in the USA have very long waiting lists and inadequate facilities to provide equal health care facilities for everyone. The USA system of health care is not as equal as the health care system of other countries such as UK and other European countries.

ator in the community. It refers to the change in philosophy regarding police duties versus community responsibilities to a team idea of complete quality management of the community (Worts, 2000). Arrington (2006) cites the ‘most often agreed upon’ definition of community policing by the United states Department of Justice (1997) as a philosophy of policing, which supports and promotes organizational strategies of dealing with the causes decreasing social disorder and crime fear by means of problem-solving techniques as well as community policing partnerships. He adds that proper community policing occurs cooperatively with the community being equal partners. Improving residents’ life quality as well as making them feel safer should be the main objective of police. This idea led to the development of several diverse police tactics and strategies intended for the improvement of the relationship between the police and the community.

The author believes that such a change, if brought about would be potentially disastrous as it would lead to printed textbooks becoming obsolete. In my opinion, such a change is unfavorable for students as using e-books would be inconvenient for them and for some, would be more expensive then purchasing textbooks. The proponents of introduction of e-books as required reading in colleges and universities include the college officials and some important textbook companies such as McGraw Hill and John Wiley and sons, amongst others, as Jeffrey Young points out in this article. These parties propose including a fixed mandatory fee per course in the tuition fee for providing the e-books to the students. Some of the colleges such the Daytona State College have already adopted this change while others like Indiana University are still in the experimental phase. The college officials believe that e-books would be cheaper for the students, if they are purchased in bulk by the college and provided to the students at a subsidized rate. Moreover, the publishing industry believes that such a change would help in reducing the rates of digital piracy. Thus, such a collaboration is thought to benefit all parties, viz. the students, the colleges and the publishing companies. Due to its large presence, it acts as the main solvent in a cell. This is why most of the chemical reactions taking place in the body involve molecules (solutes) that are dissolved in water (solvent). Chemical reactions require aqueous medium to take place, thus water’s role is verified. A cell that lacks sufficient water tends to get shrink and dehydrated. Cells getting dehydrated leads to total dehydration of human body which is fatal. Thus, water, like oxygen, is a very important constituent of cell. Now, we talk about inorganic compounds of a cell that are also found in common household. Carbohydrates are other important carbon-based chemicals/molecules that give energy to the cell. Since most carbohydrates are sweet, these are commonly known as sugars. These are called Monosaccharide, Disaccharides and Polysaccharides. Monosaccharides comprise of glucose and since, glucose is the most abundant monosaccharide in blood, it is also referred to as blood sugar. The breakdown of simple sugars, like glucose, “provides both a source of cellular energy and the starting material for the synthesis of other cell constituents” (Cooper, 2000). Two monosaccharides combine to form a disaccharide. For example, glucose combines with fructose to form sucrose, and when glucose combines with galactose, then lactose is formed which is milk sugar. Many monosaccharides combine to form polysaccharides. Here, chains of glucose molecules combine to form glycogen and starch, found in animal and plant cells respectively.Lipids or, in other words, fats are also found in cells. These lipids are divided into categories namely fatty acids, triglycerides, phospholipids and steroids. Lipids are not only a main component of cell membrane but also act as energy and neutral fat storage. These also act as a protective layer around the cell to prevent abnormal activities like extra water coming in and out.

These people are always watched from bay with half-squinted eyes. Nevertheless, far beyond confronting the frowning brows of the people gazing around, it is very important to listen to the call of one’s heart (Streitmatter 1-23). Since time immemorial, it has been an established fact that the union of opposite sexes is very important for the progression of any particular race. However, human mind has unfathomable depth and dark channels and abbeys where light of any logic or comprehension is very difficult to reach. A man might feel a physical affinity with a man, and a woman can also have the same kind of affection for another woman against the general convention prevalent in the society. If we examine the scriptures, literature and folklore thoroughly, it can be identified that mankind’s affinity towards the same sex has evolved steadily but in a very latent way. With the progress of civilization and so much of awareness of the importance of civil rights and human psychology, the time has come when people have chosen to discuss the issue at an open and broad forum where the marriages between the same-sex can be advocated and discussed without any kind of suppression.

Even though Western powers expected a major strike from Germany towards the end of WW2, they were unaware about the timing, location and the strategies of the German attack. This paper analyses the importance of Battle of the Bulge in the rest of the Second World War. Hitler was able to create some panic in the enemy camp during the initial periods of Battle of Bulge because of his unexpected war tactics and strategies. “On Christmas Eve, the Allies experienced the first ever attack by jet bombers. Sixteen German Me-262’s attacked rail yards in an attempt to upset the ability of the Allies to supply themselves” (The Battle of the Bulge). However, Hitler could not sustain the advantages gained by his troops because of the shortage of fuel for filling his jet bombers. After surviving the initial shock, Americans started the counter attack immediately using their air power. In fact Battle of Bulge was the largest battle fought by the Americans during the entire period of Second World War. It was estimated that more than 600000 American soldiers took part in this battle. Both the Americans and the Germans suffered major casualties during this war. Around 81000 Americans and 100000 Germans lost their lives in this battle.

While this is likely the most commonly recited prayer throughout Christendom, it is feared that its true meaning, context, and relevance have been lost through the generations. Not being meant to be a simple prayer to be recited by rote, it is designed to teach followers about not only importance of prayer itself, but also of the need for developing a spirit of forgiveness and of oneness with God the Father. With this in mind, it is important to look at the context of the passage itself to receive commentary on ins importance, and to look at the theological implications that still apply to all Christians to this day.The focus of this particular passage seems to be on the continued teaching that Jesus Christ himself was making in regard to prayer. As recently as verses 5 and 6 of the same chapter, the emphasis is on teaching his disciples that much of their prayer seemed to be self-centered, as opposed to God-centered, which is obviously the direction that He wanted to point his followers in. This can be seen in the reality that Jesus is exerting us in verses 9-13 to realize, first of all, the the Lord’s name is to be revered. Verse five reminds us, in fact, that His name is Hallowed. This is deference to verse five, which has followers referencing their own name as they pray. In addition, Jesus makes the shift in this passage towards a more corporate Father, with Him being addresses in verse 9 as ‘Our Father’, as opposed to the exhortation to ‘pray to your Father’ in verse 6 (O’Collins 360).In its simplistic form, the Lord’s Prayer is a move away from the ritualistic prayers of the Old Testament. While many today employ the Lord’s Prayer at Corporate gatherings, such as a Fellowship meeting, this does seem to detract somewhat from the context in which Matthew 6:9-13 was penned. Question 1-Movie and Gender Gender issues come out clearly in the movie. The interactions between the various characters and the roles given to them bring out the gender relationships. Mrs. Tuohy is an extremely strong woman in the movie despite her being a female. She is also highly demanding as she heads her household and controls all the decisions made in the family. This portrays changing gender roles in the family, where women have gained ultimate control and ability to make vital family decisions. The changing authority and roles of women clearly comes out in the movie when Mrs. Demands that they go back and help Big Mike. She even offers him a place to sleep at their home (Lewis 18). In relation to the course materials from the gender lectures, Mrs. Tuohy shows that women have the capacity to give out orders just like men. On this regard, therefore, both genders should make decisions in their home. Men should not always dominate as the heads of households. No gender should be superior to the other- all should have equal opportunity and be accorded equal rights (Lewis 22). Mrs. Tuohy represents a typical modern woman, who does not heed to the traditions, which sidelined women and favored men. Her character and actions depict women who have the determination to challenge the status quo in the society.

Research Paper - Death and American Society | Subjects: Family & Consumer Science - Undergraduate According to Smith (2004), Noddings talks about caring at two levels: home and school. She believes that providing care to children, especially at school level can play a major role in their moral development and can eventually contribute to making better caring human beings out of students. The caring and morality theory by Noddings is based on the connection between sympathy and being attended to. The feeling of ‘being attended to’ which is a consequence of sympathy leads to ‘caring for’ and ‘caring about others’ behavior (Smith, 2004).Noddings (1988) claims that if an air of caring is created and a care based relation is developed between teachers and students, the moral development process can speeded up. The learning goals will then be achieved more naturally, since the process of transmitting knowledge will become a cooperative process rather than an interfering one for the students (Noddings, 1988). As the following review of literature and observations will enlighten, the importance of ethics of caring is being realized today by many elementary schools all over the world. The caring ethic is prevalent in traditional forms of education in some shape or another. It just needs to be refined in order to get maximum benefits out of it.Noddings (1988) is of the view that when one feels cared-for, he or she responds to it with care. This interaction leads to moral development. As the care giving relationship grows, individuals feel an urge of being moral in order to maintain that relationship which ensures a ‘good’ state. Perry (1997) believes that teaching basic conflict resolution even in an atmosphere of respect is also basic in moral development. It avoids frustration due to unresolved issues and help in retaining the ‘good’ state.A principal or head of an institute is the highest administrative authority within an educational setting. The students who misbehave in class need a structured classroom management plan to assist with their behavior and learning. Students are normally attentive when the classroom lesson is presented in stimulating and insightful ways. Group interaction is an excellent way to manage students who misbehave in the classroom. The classroom management plan should include solutions for resolving issues with students who misbehave- the lessons should be presented in ways that creates interactions between the students and the teacher. A classroom management plan is an organized plan that assists the teacher in managing his or her classroom. Classroom management plans are designed in various forms, such as computer-aided instruction, student groups, or student interaction with the teacher. When establishing a classroom management plan, the teacher must analyze the classroom lessons as well as the classroom environment. These are two important elements that guide the way the classroom learning is structured. The classroom management plan is designed in an effort to establish ways to structure the classroom lessons for an effective learning environment. Creating a classroom management plan gives the teacher an outline of how the lessons should be presented to the class.

According to Smith (2004), Noddings talks about caring at two levels: home and school.
