Ozone and black carbon do not stay in the atmosphere for a long time, unlike long-lived GHGs such as carbon dioxide. Short-term pollutants do not get evenly distributed in the atmosphere. Thus, this factor should be given a great deal of attention so as to decrease their emission. Doing so will help in providing immediate resolution that will lessen climate change rate and reduce the likelihood of global warming. Likewise, strategies in decreasing the emissions of long-lived GHGs must also be regarded as an urgent concern. In its 2004 report entitled Air Quality Management in the United States, the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) suggested the integration of air pollution and climate change policies because of the found links between air quality and climate (Climate Change and Air Quality). This initiative would help in decreasing the emissions of known causes of air quality problems. At the same time, it would reduce negative impacts related to climate change.Integrating air quality and climate change policy is considerably a wise approach. It yields a number of benefits, such as in saving costs and protecting public health and the environment. It also facilitates sustainable development and helps in decreasing the carbon level in society. The success of this integration pursuit entails global consensus and needs authority that would give a broader view and proper implementation of formulated strategies. During a major conference on “Air Pollution and Climate Change: Developing a Framework for Integrated Co-benefits Strategies”, presented by the Global Atmospheric Pollution Forum in September 2008 (Hicks & Kuylenstierna, 2008), the co-benefits of air quality and climate change policies were shown. This conference has set a foundation for the improvement of global advocacy on air pollution. In the said forum, it was pointed out that there was urgent need to integrate the two policies as suggested by current science. Waves of fire and flash burns devoured people (Richard Minear, 1990). In Hiroshima, firestorm wind made the structures burn and people highly affected. Trees got uprooted and fire debris and other remains flew here and there. Hazardous radiation added to the causalities. Immediately after the explosion temperature rose to millions of degrees and light emitted to a level exceeding the brightness of sun (Richard Minear, 1990). Deadly radioactive particles affected the people and atmosphere in such a way that it wouldn’t t be healed even after centuries. Both the cities and the neighboring areas suffered from radiation sicknesses and death for several decades. Hiroshima and Nagasaki before the bombing – brief information Hiroshima with its dense population was a city of high military importance to Japan. Almost three-fourth of the city’s population was concentrated on the densely populated well-built centre portion of the city. Having the 2nd Army headquarters and crucial communication points, the city was a major assembling point for the troops. Hiroshima contained few large industrial plants, reinforced concrete buildings, wooden houses, wooden workshops and numerous industrial buildings (Dower, 1995). Because of the risk of earthquake majority of the houses and industrial buildings were wooden built and reinforced concrete constructions were strong. A perceived notion is usually entrenched to one’s mind depending on how he or she is affected by the patterns of the world or what he or she strongly believes to be affecting and guiding individual’s life in the world. To my personal believe, Christian worldview is the most suitable in trying to explain every context of life beginning from where we came from to why we are here and the future as to where we are headed to which is the eternal life. It revolves around beliefs, faith, and the words of the bible. Discussions The main question from the worldview to each individual is how do you view or see the world? In understanding worldview, therefore, there are beliefs and patterns taken by various people so as to try and explain these challenging phenomena. Some of them include the religion worldview, with the majority being the Christian worldview, scientific worldview, political worldview, culture and many different sub categories in which one may decide to view the world, including relationships and business. In summary, worldview can be seen as conception of the world that is comprehensive from a particular standpoint (Holmes 5).

To choose the right kind of ethical approach in conducting business activities, it may sometimes be necessary to shift from the path of short term profits. The idea is to maintain balance between what is right and what is profitable which may apparently seem difficult. In order to ensure a sustainable business in the long run, the need is to integrate the ethical principles with the company’s strategy. Lack of ethical behavior and social responsibilities can reduce motivation among employees resulting in poor performance and lower profit. Business ethics and social responsibility can have significant positive impacts on the company. A business conducted in an ethical manner can gain the trust of customers which can result in increased sales and profit. Employees will enjoy favorable working conditions thus encouraging them to remain an integral part of the company which will reduce employee turnover.

Drug abuse is especially harmful to a teenager since one is at an extremely significant developmental stage in life, where one is forming an identity for self by defining a suitable niche in society. At this age, a person is confused about the way life is turning out and drugs offer a refuge from the stresses of having many changes occurring physically, psychologically and socially. Development requires that a teenager experiences life soberly so that the lessons acquired can be applied effectively to one&rsquo-s adult life. The individual nations have a tendency to practice unique customs. The complexity of the cultures can be a huge barrier to the quest to realize a common culture. Some cultures with strong ideologies are associated with the global conflicts. This has increased the nurses understanding of the patient situation and has lead to a decrease in patient complications.Developed in 1956 and last revised in 2001, Bloom’s taxonomy remains one of the most universally applied models (C. Originally it consisted of only cognitive domain, but subsequent revisions in 1972 and 1973 added the psychomotor and affective domains respectively.Cognitive domain is associated with knowledge and the development of intellectual skills (C. Clark). This domain can be divided into simpler and difficult behavioral objective categories. Each category denotes a degree of difficulty and the whole domain is structured like a ladder, each and every step needs to be bested before moving on. C. Clark indicates six categories of this domain. These are Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating and Creating.Affective domain centers on a nurse’s ability to handle different situations. According to D. This story brings to life an orderly lifestyle that ran within the society members. All people had a role to play including the children. Young boys collected stones and guarded them in a corner. The society recognized demarcations in terms of households and families. Leadership gained recognition at all levels. The man became recognized as the head of the family while the woman comes third if there is a boy in the family who has reached sixteen years. During picking of the paper slips, a sense of harmony ensured. This is an expression of sound governance. At the same time, only one paper per person could be taken. This is a show of a social order keen on giving everyone an equal chance at the decision making level. There is a form of representation in the society with a woman taking the place of a man in extreme cases (Jackson 24). The use of papers instead of wood chips is an indication of the degradation of the traditional values that used to hold the society together. It also indicates civilization. The presence of a post office and a bank in the village reinforces the aspect of civilization. Townshend Acts were pursuing the goal to tighten British control over the colonies’ trade. It specifically imposed some restrictions on the imported goods such as: tea, paper, glass, etc. In order to keep judges and governors independent from the colonial rule the Parliament decided to pay their salaries from the tax revenues obtained with the help of the Townshend Acts. In this case Britain tried to create an effective enforcement mechanism and keep controlling colonial trade and seas. At the same time Stamp Act failure proved that the British Parliament could not impose its decisions on the internal regulations in the colonies. It was difficult to resist this act since colonies heavily relied on trade relationships with Britain, and in this case Britain had an advantage and could dictate their rules. At the same time the colonial resistance was disorganized, there was no single political leader. 3. Why did colonists dump tea in Boston Harbor? What particular aspect of the Tea Act was most objectionable? After the Townshend Acts were approved the conflict between the colonies and British government escalated. The Tea Act of 1773 favored monopolization of the tea market- only the East India Company was entitled to carry tea from auctions in London and distribute it in the colonies. Clearly this decision was not welcomed in the colonies. Essay - Renting an apartment is a better option than buying a house. | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Undergraduate

Panic is one outcome of a stressful situation that numbs down any feasible accurate responses and overcoming it can be a challenge in itself. I was to catch a local flight from Bali to Jakarta and then fly back home through an international one. I arrived at the airport on time and since there was time left for the boarding side to open, I ended up reading a book on a nearby bench. Time went by and I was so consumed in the book that the boarding opened and I could not check in on time. I kept looking at the desk side but since there was no sign put up, I missed my chance to get the boarding pass. When I noticed that an awful lot of time had passed by and I checked with the main counter, I was told that the flights boarding was now closed and I had n option but to wait for the next flight available.I panicked and my heart beat went up. My stomach started to churn in an uncomfortable manner and I had no idea what to do. Even in an air conditioned airport, I felt like I was sweating and my palms were wet. My breathing was high and being clueless, I felt miserable. I gathered enough courage to have some water and calm my nerves. After settling down, I went to the help center to ask for the list of flights but unfortunately there were none available since it was a weekend and the flights were full. My immediate response was to inform my family back home and then to prepare myself for the delay.I managed to email my father about what had happened and then I kept checking the help desk to see if any flights had seats available. I managed to catch a flight to Jakarta but the situation that was created at that time was an unforgettable one. The stress that I faced during that time when the lady at the help desk informed me that there were no available seats for the next two days was unexplainable. After panicking for a while, I ended up thinking clearly and behaving accordingly instead of giving up and taking an incorrect

Research Paper - Teleology | Subjects: Philosophy - High school The sustainability in the consumption and production of the material resources are the target areas that are the collective requirements of the industries and organizations. The idea for the cleaner production in order to achieve sustainability is very important (Hui, 2004). The main production for the material resources are many but the two important are the industries that emerged after the industrial revolution, that emerged from Europe and spread through the rest of the world and the second is the deforestation that is used for the consumption of different resources as well. Also one reason to do the deforestation is to increase the crop land area. These forests are not only the production resource but also the habitat of thousands of organisms in complex ecosystems providing food chains for numerous species, and are regulatory to the temperature and climatic stability. The consumption includes the consumption of land to form cities, mega cities, that causes urban sprawl and also for the agricultural consumption that if not sustainable will cause more harm to the environment as well humans rather than only consuming those resources. The production of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and organic fertilizers impacts the environment and has consequences- furthermore the urbanization and consumption of land for living may cause loss of landscape as well as soil degradation. Here is the need where the sustainability comes at the first place. If all the material resources are utilized according to the sustainability and millennium development goals than it is sound and peace. But if the case is opposite than we must be ready to face the consequences. Essay - Enterprise | Subjects: Marketing - Undergraduate

Richard Bausch’s story, “Aren’t you happy for me?” in all its simplicity gives the reader an insight into a much more complex scenario depicted by observing a incident in the life of a ordinary family. In this story the more that is revealed, the more complex the situation that the father is immersed in becomes until ultimately he realizes the gravity of a situation he had underestimated- the distance that had become undeniable in his marriage and what a difficult path his daughter had taken.A key element of the story that is used by the author is that of revelation. It is used with gravity and artfully timed in the way it deepens not only the story but the characters as well. It further thickens the plot and depicts to the reader the importance of revelation and how the transformation the characters undergo with it as they are portrayed in light of their exquisite humanness. It is this very quality which makes them heroic and at the same time flawed. The story revolves around a phone call between a father and daughter as the predicament that the daughter is in slowly unwinds as the father discovers she is pregnant and about to marry a 63 year old man who was also her professor. As he internalizes and processes the situation his daughter reveals which in all its complicated nature seems to be a reason for joy for her, greatly disturbs the father as he categorizes the predicament as severely grave- a cherry on top of the problems his life already was in. "Outside the window, his wife, with no notion of what she was about to be hit with, looked through the patterns of shade in the blinds and, seeing him, waved. It was friendly, and even so, all their difficulty was in it." (p.87)

It started as stories passed on by word of mouth since the start of the development of human civilization did not have the knowledge of writing yet. As the story was passed on, alterations happened as environment changed and interpretations also changed. When writing was invented, changes still occurred but not as frequent as without it. People became aware of having basis by putting down the stories and their culture into writing. Figures had been incorporated in the writings of the stories and cultures that have significant values to show to the readers. One of those figures is the Trickster. The Trickster is known as a prominent figure in folktales that go against the traditional beliefs of a society and even defies the law of the gods. He exhibits his rebellion through lust, lies and foolery. He comes out of the stories as one of the gods but it also appears in the form of an animal. Despite not being bound by the laws, he still gained the attention of people by being skillful. The people in the academe and in the popular culture have known that figure as the representation of evasion (Pelton 1). He has appeared in various forms to show how trickery is done. As its name implies, Trickster makes use of a trick to get what he wants. 1). In contrast, the three-dimensionalists tend to put to question this analogy. As per the three-dimensionalists, the persisting things tend to wholly be present at the specific time at which they exist. Again, the four-dimensionalists totally reject this. As per the four-dimensionalists, the persisting objects exist through time by perduring (Sider, 2001, p. 1). Leaving aside the ordinary spatial parts of persisting objects, they also tend to have temporal parts in all the times in which they existed (Gallois 1998, p. 175). So, to put it in simple words, four-dimensionalism happens to be a view regarding the ontological status of objects that are non-present (Hudson 2001). As per the opinion of the Presentists, it is only the present objects that exist. In its simplistic interpretation, as per the Presentists, there exist no Dodos, though such birds existed in the past, there are no urban structures on the moon, though such structures may be erected in the future. In contrast, as per the four-dimensionalists, there exist both the past and future objects, and whiling asserting so the four-dimensionalists tend to put the past objects, ontologically in tandem with the present objects.

short story, “The Lottery.” In reading this story, and reading literary criticism about the story, there were many symbols and much symbolism in this story.Shirley Jackson was the only daughter of Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Born in 1916, Jackson grew up in Rochester New York and went to Brighton High School. Eventually, she would graduate from Syracuse University with her bachelor’s degree (GradeSaver) and marry Stanley Edgar Hyman, also a writer. Although Jackson lived a very successful life as an author, she is most known for “The Lottery.” With this title and several of her novels, she gained a reputation as a “gothic horror and psychological suspense” author (Randall and Simon 1). Jackson had four children and when she was pregnant with one of her children and walking home from buying groceries, she was thinking about a book that her husband had introduced her to about ancient rights that she could not get out of her mind. When she arrived home, she wrote “The Lottery” in two hours, showed it to her husband, and then sent it off to her publisher at The New Yorker Magazine- they published it right away (Shmoop Editorial Team).“The Lottery” was written in 1948 which was just after WWII. This was a time when people were still feeling some effects of the war and the Holocaust and the terrible things that happened during that time. Americans were moving back to a time where they wanted life to be simple and orderly. There was also a need to go back to traditional values and a need for conformity (Miss Cellania). While people enjoyed seeing the Cleveland Indians win the World Series, The Philadelphia Eagles win the NFL and while they were being entertained by beautiful women like Lauren Bacall, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth (PCM Entertainment and Trivia Network) Jackson was entertaining a different audience through her short story. This makes the mind and the brain to be same substance in an outlay where the mind is a consequence of neural connections. This positioning of the mind and the brain based on the assumptions make in physicalism means that damage to the brain translates to the same damage in the mind.
