The several challenges faced over the years have also helped to propel the company into new heights. These include fierce competition from other consulting firms, the credit crunch which saw the company barely survive and the restructuring we had to do to increase efficiency and serve our clients better. The International Market After long consultations with the directors and other stakeholders, it was agreed that the company should move to another level and expand into the international market. This will be a great privilege to the company. After the marketing team completed its analysis on the first location outside the UK that the company should base its services on, we decided to take the business to Paris, France due to a number of reasons that will be outlined later. With the expansion to Paris, the company will also introduce a new product in the market. This is an area that the company has researched on and found high demand for, especially in Paris. The new product involves training programmes for International marketing. The most obvious reason as to the choice of this product is due to the fact that Paris, being a renowned historical city in the world, attracts several local and international tourists every year. The training programmes in International marketing will thus be very useful to the market. <strong>Case Study - PSYC 430 Case Study: Anxiety | Subjects: Psychology - Ph.D.</strong>Research Paper - Historical Societal Myths: American Dream | Subjects: History - High school

According to the American Bar Association, ADR is an “an array of non-binding and binding dispute resolution methods that entail the application of third-party neutrals to help the parties in contract controversies through a systematic settlement process” (ABA, 1999).2 Similarly the United States Code in section 571 explains that ADR comprises of the following aspects, conciliation, facilitation, mediation, fact-finding, mini-trials, arbitration and ombudsmen, the above aspects can be combined in ADR. As noted by Shamir ADR is applied in different civil law policy situations, and not just in global Institutionalized in a lot of court systems and justice systems around the world.3 Though ADR is accepted by globally, it has some disadvantages, thus this paper aims at examining the advantages of ADR over litigation. For clarity of the issue, the paper will begin by giving an overview of the concept of ADR. Use and Cost of litigation According to Nolan-Haley litigation has been mostly used as a traditional way of resolving disputes, whether they are local or international business transactions The aspect of colorblindness regulates societal view about racism. In modern scenario, there are incidents where multiracial identity can be correlated with colorblindness of racism. On the other hand, this kind of racial identity also influences psychological and social factors. This statement can be contradicted through analyzing information presented in the journal article. The concept of racial discrimination in past years was different from that of existing scenario. In current context, discrimination might be based on status symbol rather than distinction between racial groups. The primary question undertaken in the study is there are alternative treatments which can effectively deal with such racial discrimination. In American society it was assumed that racial discrimination is a natural phenomenon. This eventually led to segregation of Whites from Blacks, rather than focusing on development of a multiracial community. The pattern of &lsquo-naturalization&rsquo- as given by Bonilla-Silva clearly indicates that people assumed residential or racial segregation. However, the journal article outlines a different perspective where racial identity is not really a governing factor when it comes to social behavior, rather status symbol should be given more importance. In America, whites&rsquo- preference towards white people was a general matter, which was something to be considered beyond race. The concept of colorblindness can be considered as a sociological term that can be correlated with racial characteristics.

Essay - El Mozote | Subjects: Miscellaneous - College Nothing could be farther from the truth, because organizations are diverse in the goals they set for themselves, the way they are structured, the activities they undertake and their strategies to pursue their goals (Daft & Marcic, 2013). Organizations include the Catholic Church as well as the Yakuza, the Chicago Bears and the International Paralympic Committee, the Salvation Army and Apple, Inc., Mensa International and the Miss Universe Organization. The wide spectrum of organizations appears to defy any attempt to define what unifies them, let alone shape a coherent and cohesive Organization Theory. The issue to be addressed in this discussion deals on the advantages and disadvantages of a multi-perspective approach to understanding organizations. Adopting a widely diversified approach that seeks to include all organizations may defeat the purpose of creating a definitive framework due to overbreadth, to the point that nearly all organizations may be excluded from some aspect of the theory.

There is more appreciation nowadays that people irrespective of race are just but human beings and can live in peace as brothers as sisters. For a society to grow racial tolerance is essential. This paper looks into various influences of race in my community in Phoenix, Arizona. Discussion Working in a copper mining company in Phoenix has helped me to develop the way I perceive people from different racial backgrounds. It is however not easy to intermingle freely with people from other races. There are still minor tensions that exist which get eroded as people work together more and share experiences. I work as a clerk whereby I attend to all people irrespective of their position in the company. I have come to disregard the popular belief that people exhibit differences based on their racial affiliations. It is however true that people from different races normally behave and perceive things differently. My analysis on this issue is that this happens based not on their race but their background or environment. The basic issue is that all people be they Caucasians, Hispanics, Asians or African Americans, exhibit similarities in their values and beliefs. The first and most apparent recognized use is as communications apparatus with people you already have a strong acquaintance. Email and instantaneous messaging has gone way past the previous adopter phase. For many enterprises, societies and families, it has become one of the prevailing forms of communication. Email is up there with the telephone, and more and more is replacing physical mail and fax. This is fascinating. It took the telephone eons to be at par with this level of acknowledgement for such routine uses. Fax never reached it for personal utilizations (Zittrain, 2009). On the other hand, the Internet has been also used as an information-collecting tool. Reports by Pew Internet Project show that over 50 percent of adult Internet consumers utilized the Internet, most probably, for job-connected research. They can also accomplish this by seeking out new credit card issuers who offer minimal to zero interest on new accounts.6. The most interesting detail that I found in this core reading is how people tend to use credit cards to help control how much they spend, yet wind up increasing their debt due to increasingly high interest rates. While credit cards do have their good points, they seem to be more misleading and damaging than anything of benefit. Despite this, many people still tend to rely on them more for making purchases than they do

The US force sent more fighters to South Vietnam in order to fight back powerfully, but eventually responsibility of war turned back to South Vietnam and US military forces had to withdraw. It was noticed that the Tet Offensive outcomes resulted in damaged presidency of Lyndon B. On the contrary, a country that is in least need of a given commodity or produces the commodity locally will raise the rates of import tariffs for the particular product to discourage importation of the commodity (Korber 2000, p. 10). In the views of Riley (2006), economic protectionism can also be achieved through the imposition of quotas. A county in dire need of a particular commodity will actually lift import quotas to encourage further importation of the particular commodities. Conversely, a country that is capable of producing sufficient or relatively adequate amount of a given commodity for its economy may opt to lower the importation quotas of a given commodity (Riley 2006). Under serious circumstances, a country may impose embargoes declaring total ban on importation of a particular commodity (Riley 2006). Export subsidies for locally produced goods can also be used to encourage bulk production and importation of particular commodities into the economy (Korber, 2000, p. 9). Riley (2006) reports that, in the case countries are engaging in free trade, the government may opt to formulate preferential government procurement policy and state aid to ensure that it allocates spending that will only benefit domestic producers as opposed to foreign suppliers. In particular the differences are compared and contrasted as observed using specific cultures of Japan, and the UK. Furthermore, the proponent also discussed the business etiquette and the possible consequences of not being familiar with the correct etiquette. Other variables such as power, status, or gender are also included especially on their impacts on non-verbal communication. Silence The absence of words or specific level of reaction does not mean there is something totally void or emptiness about it. Not with the Japanese culture because silence or chinmoku says more than a word. In Japan silence does not mean to be a specific level of insult or something else because it is a communicative skill (Davies & Ikeno, 2002). In this country, silence is derived from the Japanese values and it is the main reason how it is significantly viewed important today in every walk of life and in different circumstances. It is considered as a virtue. Compared in the western culture, silence in the midst of communication in Japan on a daily basis stands in a longer duration and this is due to two most important factors: historical and dominance of group consciousness (Davies & Ikeno, 2002).

In addition, through integrity, external auditors are required to avoid conflicts of interest when making their reports. In this way, their judgment will be imperative to the shareholders, directors, banks and other users of the audited reports. Question 2 One of the major factors to consider before investing in the biotechnology company is the profitability of the company. Through the audited financial reports, an investor will note the amount of profits and divided paid to the shareholders. In this way, an investor is at a good position to make an appropriate decision before investing in the company. Secondly, an investor should know the sources of finance adopted by the company. Companies that have wide range of sources of finance have a higher probability to survive in the current competitive business arena. Similarly, through various sources of finance, the concept of business as a going on concern is guaranteed since the company is financially stable. Another vital aspect that as an investor I will need to know is the management of the company. If the company has a strong management and auditing team and policies, it implies that financial position of the company is good thus guaranteeing high returns to the shareholders. Likewise, it is fundamental to have adequate information on the strategic plans of the company. This paper shall look at two histories of the war-one written by Dwight Jon Zimmerman and the other by George Moss. The former is a graphic history and the latter is a conventional history written in the format of a textbook. These entail many differences in the kind of issues that they deal with and the emphases that they place on certain issues. George Moss’s account deals with issues of the policies that were adopted during the period from 1965 to 1967. The policies are what the emphasis is laid on and the methods used to illustrate these events are exactly that - illustrations. They are not looked at as events in themselves but as illustrations of larger political policies that were important at a certain point in history (Moss). However, in Zimmerman’s account, there is a fundamental difference. The emphasis is laid on the individual battles that were fought and the battalions that were part of these particular battles (Zimmerman). This emphasis makes the history much more approachable and makes the history one that has characters who are very human rather than figures of political authority who do not seem to have a personality to speak of.

Essay - Health inequalities in Britain | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Ph.D. Right after this thought, one would question the existence of humans on the face of the earth. Life is only sustained with the presence and use of language. And, it is only this use of language that has really shaped many cultures. In the early period of human evolution, people used to live in caves and mountains where they were in limited numbers. And, they had rare communication with people belonging to different tribes living away from them. And within these tribes, different languages were developing and people used to communicate with. Without any doubt, it was the role of language that considerably played its role to develop culture inside the tribe. Since then, language and culture are mostly intertwined- collectively they shape different ideologies, behaviors and attitudes of people living in different towns, cities provinces and countries. However, when it comes to comprehend the basic linguistic structures of a language in the modern era, for most of us, including me, it is not always going to be easy to understand the small threads of language. In the subsequent parts of this reflective essay, first, I have included my first meeting with the English Language and its different linguistic threads such as grammar and so on. Second, my observations about the internet literacy are accounted for, and it is followed by the summary of this reflective essay.

A substantial portion of the sale price, 1.65 billion euros, is for this patent deal, to which Microsoft has the option to extend after the decade-long agreement expires, and that extension privilege is indefinite in its extent in time. Essay - Operating Segments. | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Ph.D. A biblical covenant, however, is not one that is made between two equal parties. After reading the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, one would discover that it was always God who proposes that a covenant be made between Him and man. Apparently, this only proves that God is not one who simply imposes his decisions on man, regardless of the fact that these are always absolutely wise and infallible. The covenants show that He also respects the free will that he gifted man with. He may ask mankind to do things in his favor, but he also grants them privileges in return. Man, for his part, also gets some of his wishes from God, he also has to oblige to certain conditions explicitly stated by the Creator. There were instances though that God unconditionally enters into a covenant with man and this only proves that, unlike man, He can grant favors out of love and not out of the wish for benefits. The first most prominent covenant mentioned in the Bible is that between God and Noah. After the Great Deluge, in which He literally washed the earth to rid it of man’s wickedness, God made a promise to Noah. In Genesis 9:11, He said that he would never punish man by destroying the world with flood. To seal the covenant, God creates the rainbow and makes it the sign of a lasting covenant between Him and man. Essay - The Five Messages Leaders Must Manage | Subjects: Business - Undergraduate

Today’s adolescent is likely to either be a victim or cyber bully before finishing high school, being such a bully themselves, or surprisingly enough, ending up on both ends of the spectrum. Studies have largely been conducted specifically about cyber bullying for the past eight years and, on average, upwards of 27% of respondents are victims of some level of extreme cyber bullying, while other studies point that this percentage is much higher and increasing at staggering rates (Wang & Ianotti, 2012). This number is simply unacceptable and local school systems throughout the world, particularly in North America, need to do a better job of assisting teachers in providing resources to their students aimed at eliminating the threat of cyber bullying. In addition, resources should be provided to assist victims of cyber bullying by giving them support to ease any psychological or physical trauma that they might have experienced. Touching on these areas is the aim of this brief study. To begin to understand how to work within the local Ontario school system to combat this problem, teachers and other stakeholders in childhood education must first understand the unique components of cyber bullying. While such an action can be perpetrated against any age group, it is typically children and teenagers who find themselves becoming a victim. The action occurs when an individual is harassed, humiliated, threatened, or targeted in some manner primarily through digital communication. This can take place via either the Internet, other digital devices, and the increasingly feature rich mobile or smart phone. An important distinction for the purposes of this paper is that cyber bullying occurs when both the victim and the instigator are both minors. If an adult is involved, it becomes a form of harassment that carries different distinctions (Fauman, 2008). Teachers need to be on the lookout for students in their class that are either victimized by such

There was a design flaw that was provoking uncertainty to the website visitors/users and hence was imposing a serious error in user e-commerce experience. Moreover, the design was constructed by non-technical personnel without any knowledge of how the website will utilize technology available at backend. It is astonishing that the user can access all the contents of the website without registration and the website should not degrade its performance when a large number of users trying to purchase health insurance. However, for a federal function website, 700, 000 is not a massive number in terms of other federal or government website visitors. Likewise, the integration of this site with the other sites such as Internet Revenue Service and the Department of Veteran affairs has severely affected its navigation response. Moving forward, the website needs to validate information from different interfaces of other systems that are using old technology, there is a dependency that needs to be sorted in the design phase of this website. Currently, the delay occurring on these old systems is reflecting on the website and end user is suffering. Those parents who showed the readiness of letting go were classified as “letting go”, while those who were reluctant to let go were classified into “reluctant to let go” category. There are those however, who were “not ready to let go” of their children altogether (Kloep and Hendry 826).Results from the study revealed that although most parents were happy watching their children grow up, they were not very happy watching them leave them. Others were happy and relieved to watch their children grow into maturity and become independent. Different characteristics of these parents showed their readiness to let go of their children. Some had in depth attachment with the children, such that they found it hard to watch them leave. From the results, it was evident that the level of parents’ love and openness with their children affected their willingness of letting go.According to Kloep and Hendry (829), parents who were happy to let go of their children were either working or living away from their children, or their children were university students and thus spent little time toge. Parents who were reluctant to let go were found to have spent a lot of time with their children and thus felt the impact them of the separation. Those who held on to their children loved them so much that they felt lonely by letting them go. Power fights between the parents and the children was a result of the parents who felt that their children were not mature enough to live on their own or make concrete decisions (Kloep and Hendry 830).A number of conclusions were drawn from the study. The researchers found out that the parents had some difficulty in letting their children go regardless of the relationship they had. Parents have an

They appear in a variety of shapes (rods, spirals, spheres, blogs and helical among others) and sizes ranging between 0.5 and 5.0 microns. Most bacteria are of one of three typical shapes, which include round/ball-shaped (coccus), rod-shaped (bacillus) and spiral-shaped (spirillum), with an additional group, vibrios, that appear as incomplete spirals.Scientists also characterize bacteria by their growth patterns such as the chains formed by streptococci. While some bacteria, mainly the spirillum and bacillus forms, are motile or swim about by whip-like movements of flagella, others have pili, rigid rod-like protuberances, which serve as tethers. Pili join pairs of bacteria together facilitating transfer of DNA between them. Some bacteria have short, hair-like, proteinaceous projections called fimbriae at the cell ends or over the entire surface, which enable the bacteria to adhere to surfaces. Depending on the bacteria species, flagella may be set in any of four ways, which includes the monotrichous form with a single flagellum at one end, the amphitrichous with a single flagellum at each bacterium end, the lophotrichous with two or more flagella at either or both bacterium ends and the peritrichous form with flagella distributed over the entire cell.Bacterial cells can exist as discrete individual cells or may group together in chains as in the case of rods and cocci. Cocci forms can also aggregate in clusters. They contain a cell envelope comprising of a capsule, the cell wall and a plasma lemma or plasma membrane and a cytoplasmic region, which contains the cell genome, ribosomes and various cell inclusions. Most bacteria have a rigid cell wall, which consists of a polymer of disaccharides that are cross-linked by peptides (short amino acid chains) forming a

short story, “The Lottery.” In reading this story, and reading literary criticism about the story, there were many symbols and much symbolism in this story.Shirley Jackson was the only daughter of Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Born in 1916, Jackson grew up in Rochester New York and went to Brighton High School. Eventually, she would graduate from Syracuse University with her bachelor’s degree (GradeSaver) and marry Stanley Edgar Hyman, also a writer. Although Jackson lived a very successful life as an author, she is most known for “The Lottery.” With this title and several of her novels, she gained a reputation as a “gothic horror and psychological suspense” author (Randall and Simon 1). Jackson had four children and when she was pregnant with one of her children and walking home from buying groceries, she was thinking about a book that her husband had introduced her to about ancient rights that she could not get out of her mind. When she arrived home, she wrote “The Lottery” in two hours, showed it to her husband, and then sent it off to her publisher at The New Yorker Magazine- they published it right away (Shmoop Editorial Team).“The Lottery” was written in 1948 which was just after WWII. This was a time when people were still feeling some effects of the war and the Holocaust and the terrible things that happened during that time. Americans were moving back to a time where they wanted life to be simple and orderly. There was also a need to go back to traditional values and a need for conformity (Miss Cellania). While people enjoyed seeing the Cleveland Indians win the World Series, The Philadelphia Eagles win the NFL and while they were being entertained by beautiful women like Lauren Bacall, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth (PCM Entertainment and Trivia Network) Jackson was entertaining a different audience through her short story. To enhance that the auditory method is effective there are various learning habits tailored to get much out of the study time. These study habits may include recording of lectures for later hearing, group discussions, reading out lecture notes softly to you, tutoring others and participating in classroom discussions. Not all of the mentioned habits may be effective to me since some like taping the lecture for later hearing may lead to time wastage and poor attention during the actual lecture. I would prefer reading quietly rather than reading loudly except for exercises to enhance reading skills. The other three study habits facilitate active learning, and by this, different points missed during the individual study time are shared.
