However, globalization has come to change how people perceive those from other races. There is more appreciation nowadays that people irrespective of race are just but human beings and can live in peace as brothers as sisters. For a society to grow racial tolerance is essential. This paper looks into various influences of race in my community in Phoenix, Arizona. Discussion Working in a copper mining company in Phoenix has helped me to develop the way I perceive people from different racial backgrounds. It is however not easy to intermingle freely with people from other races. There are still minor tensions that exist which get eroded as people work together more and share experiences. I work as a clerk whereby I attend to all people irrespective of their position in the company. I have come to disregard the popular belief that people exhibit differences based on their racial affiliations. It is however true that people from different races normally behave and perceive things differently. My analysis on this issue is that this happens based not on their race but their background or environment. The basic issue is that all people be they Caucasians, Hispanics, Asians or African Americans, exhibit similarities in their values and beliefs. <strong>Assignment - Race in our everyday lives | Subjects: Miscellaneous - High school</strong>Essay - Into the Fray | Subjects: Miscellaneous - College

This research paper discusses the King James the sixth of Scotland and first of England, who inherited a difficult situation. The debacle which Henry VIII had started over his desire to divorce and remarry had destabilized relationships with Rome, and had added to emerging religious tensions within the British Isles. Elizabeth managed to maintain a mutually beneficial symbiosis between the top echelons of Church and State, but these matters were all being hotly discussed up and down the land. The Puritans and the Presbyterians were agitating for structures more akin to those in Geneva, which was the home of the Calvinist wing of the Reformation. It took all of King James’ political skill and leadership ability to find a way of keeping Christians seated around a table and discussing their differences. It is no coincidence that James is best known for his achievement of first creating and then establishing the Bible translation that bears his name: the King James Bible. The outcome of this effort, which has been called “perhaps the only significant work of art produced by a committee,” was the King James Version of the Bible. It has proved its worth in the centuries which followed, capturing the imagination of the people and gradually gaining in popularity, no doubt because it carefully reproduced the idiom of natural English in the beginning of the seventeenth century. It was one of the most widely printed books in the world, and has influenced the language and culture of English speaking peoples ever since. There are two different issues regarding the role of globalization as many argue that the governments, due to globalization, have lost their control over their own sovereignty. On the other hand, it is said that the due to globalization, the world as a whole, benefit from the globalization. It is often argued that with the increased globalization, governments often lose control over their own economic affairs and as such many developing countries consider globalization as a force which is in direct contravention of their sovereignty and control over their own domestic affairs. Due to globalization, domestic institutions gradually lose control over the economic policy making as global organizations largely influence their decision making process and the resulting changes would bring in more economic hardship rather than economic affluence for the country. Many developing countries also fear that the resulting changes would create such socio-cultural changes that the society will no longer remain within it traditional attire and foreign ideas and values will start to dominate the society. However, on the other hand, results also indicate that third world countries often benefit from globalization due to sheer transfer of technology, capital as well as knowledge. The resulting changes not only bring prosperity but also economic growth as well as a more secure future of the nation. It is truly difficult to define what globalization is and under what conditions it can provide desired benefits. Over the period of time, the discipline has evolved into a position where it has integrated many different disciplines and emerged as one of the most talked after multi-disciplinary concept. As such the current state of the concept inculcates into it various theoretical approaches, different disciplines as well as theoretical foundations, which are currently behind the emergence of the modern definition of globalization.Globalization has

Essay - Taxi driver(1976) | Subjects: Visual Arts & Film Studies - Masters Spain was the first one to establish colonies in Florida followed by other Europeans. England made its attempts to form colonies in the seventeenth century and these attempts were successful. At this time, there was no official intention to form colonies in America but the motivation among the people was to explore and live in a richer environment. The main stage of European settlements was in the eighteenth century when the thirteen fully formed European colonies started a rebellion against the British rule and soon afterwards declared themselves as independent and became the United States of America. The migration pattern, as mentioned above, was as follows- initially Spain formed settlements followed by Mexico, France, Netherland, Sweden, and then England. Short Paragraph 1 Not everyone shares equally in the economic bounties of North America. This fact can be traced back to the colonial period. The European settlers were industrially developed and they had developed different ways of farming and producing goods. All these European cultures brought these techniques with them to America and thus the economy of America developed. According to the ACARA website, the NAPLAN testing widely reflects the aspects related to numeracy and literacy, which are common to the curricula of all the states and territories (“My School Fact Sheet”). The test formats as well as questions are chosen in such manner that they remain familiar to the students and teachers all across Australia. It is designed in such manner that it can be taken on the same date in any particular year all across the country (“National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy 2010”). Problems associated with design or use of NAPLAN Management accounting enhances the decision making by suggesting methods and methodologies. In this part of the project, the problems in the design and framework of NAPLAN would be reflected by taking into consideration the management accounting theory. Three problems associated with NAPLAN are given below: The content coverage of the NAPLAN test: With 40 questions in every test, NAPLAN always assesses fragments of the student achievement. This is not appropriate because testing a portion of the curriculum does not give indication about any student’s learning in all the curriculum areas. The result of the students in this test reflects the percentage of questions that could be answered by them out of all the questions present in the questionnaire. Essay - Importance of Differentiated Curriculum for Gifted Learners | Subjects: Education - College One excellent solution to this problem is community organizing. Taking care of five children is not significantly harder than supervising one, yet walking around you see dozens of parents taking care of only their own child on their day off. With a little bit of communication, community organization and logistical support, it would be very easy for members of a community (be it a neighborhood, a work place, or even a club) to establish small of say 5-6 parents who would share child rearing duties for the entire group on one of their day off on a rotating schedule. So each parent would take care of the whole group’s children one day a week.

n stage, one of the projects a case study was conducted and it came to revelation that the information technology of the place should be improved in order to meet the objectives of the management. This paper will explain how a technology solution suggested in the case study in stage one will improve the process- come up with a specific technology solution and the effects of the technological solution to the business. The proposed system in which the restaurant will work is when the introduction of a new technological system will depend if the customer had made an earlier reservation order through the restaurants website or not. If the customer had made one, he will find his or her table reserved and a waiter waiting for the customer’s arrival. The customer will provide the order number, which he obtained from the website after making the reservation. The waiter will signal the number to the counter where it will be instantly transmitted to the kitchen monitor to ensure the order is ready. IF the customer had not made a reservation on the website he will undergo go almost the same process but instead of giving the order number to the waiter, the customer will make the order will the waiter note them down in the I- pad. The chosen process will work effectively with a good and reliable technology in because it will reduce the movement of the waiters going to the counter to present orders requested by the customer. Furthermore, the process will be fast compared to the old process because within a minute the kitchen would have received an order of a certain customer. The Deli management should ensure each table has at most two I-pads in which the customer will use to make orders. The I-pads should contain software that would be easy to use for those who are computer illiterates and the level of speed in the I-pads should be high. The management should consider making the joint be a Wi-Fi hot spot. The results showed that the overall performance fields shifted with the position of the head. Therefore the results of the first experiment supported the proposal that performance fields shift, and are specific in terms of egocentric coordinates. The second experiment used four observers, who participated in a two, one hour sessions on fixation shifts. The result from experiment two showed that for every cardinal direction of fixation shifts (N, S, E, And W), as compared to the average performance of each of the four observers, at every corresponding eight target locations to their average performance. Therefore, the results support the fact that performance fields are retinotopic against head centric in nature. The implications of the study on visual displays are have varied influence of egocentric and allocentric manipulations on visual perception to underscore the significance in understanding how spatial reference frames mediate visual performance fields. Benefits of the POS System The POS system being online will ensure that all across the Wal-Mat store there will be real and up dated POS solutions. In addition, since the POS system is custom made it will be custom made and thus compatible with most of the programs and hardware, which are to be installed. Furthermore, it will ensure that there is less inventory shrinkage. This is because through POS system it will be easier to keep track of obsolete and damaged inventories. Because of the effectiveness with which customers are served, it will ensure and lead to more customer service efficiency, customer satisfaction and customer retention and loyalty. It will facilitate timely and accurate reports as well as fast and effective analysis of sales date which is paramount to management information for decision-making process. In addition, the online POS software package will offer the advantage of management through remote access i.e. while in different store and while on leave. Moreover, having installed POS system Wal-Mat can easily expand in case of increased customers. This is because it only needs to mount new computers and other relevant hardware to create a new service station. The other minor benefits that Wal-Mat will get by setting up the POS will be prevention of theft, accuracy, and effective inventory management. This paper is a critical evaluation of the issues surrounding the debate to introduce school uniforms in all American public schools. School Uniforms for American Public Schools A school uniform for every American student in public schools is a policy, which should be adopted in the nearest future possible, if not today. This debate has been going on for a long time, since early 1990s, and to date, no valid consensus has been reached. As a result, the decision has been left to individual school administrators to determine whether or not to compel their students to wear school uniforms.

What is more, in accordance with Steinbeck, material well-being and financial security are among the most things for Americans, on which they depend a lot even though they regard themselves as independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant. Furthermore, among the characteristic features of Americans is the inconsistency of their behavior and their tendency to “function by paradox”, which means that they themselves cancel their rules and habits by introducing new ones (Steinbeck). Finally, Americans live in accordance with the American Way of Life despite the fact that nobody can give a clear definition of what constitutes it and what it means. In this very paper, the way the commercials reflect the traits of Americans will be analyzed. More specifically, the correctness and usefulness of illustration in understanding the characteristics of Americans will be touched upon. For this purpose, five particular traits have been chosen from the article by John Steinbeck. Among them are the following ones: Americans’ tendency to act excessively (“for the most part we are an intemperate people”), being dependent on money (“we are complacent in our possessions, in our houses, in our education- but it is hard to find a man or woman who does not want something better for the next generation”), being good to unknown people (“Americans are remarkably kind and hospitable and open with both guests and strangers”), having a belief in self-sufficiency (“we believe […] that we have inherited self-sufficiency and the ability to take care ourselves”), and being charitable in case there is spare money (“if we have enough gold – we contribute it back to the nation in the form of foundations and charities” (Steinbeck). They argue that no significant breakthrough is yet to come, and therefore it might not be possible for the world to end its dependence on oil. Both schools of thoughts have different arguments for their point of view. In this paper we will explore arguments given by both the sides in great detail, and will try to conclude whether alternative sources of energy can, in fact, end human dependence on oil or not. Alternative Energy Sources Can end Human Dependence on Oil In this section we will present arguments given in favor of the alternative sources of energy. Firstly, this school of thought highlights the dangers of pollution, which is a consequence of our dependence on oil. Alternative sources of energy should be appreciated because they can significantly reduce pollution that is a direct consequence of oil. Using oil as a source of energy is extremely harmful for the society and therefore alternative sources of energy should be explored. Natural oil also creates problems for the environment and makes life difficult for the people in general. Many skin and lung diseases are common in people who live in highly polluted regions.

Essay - Reading Reflection | Subjects: Literature - Masters The same authors also suggested that many entrepreneurs are first-born males of the family who have strong work ethics and some business background. Entrepreneurs work strategically- he or she is a person who knows the right people and can select a good team. These people are different people often termed as minorities (Bolton & Thompson, 2004, p-14). Smith (n.d, p-5) suggests that entrepreneurs are agents of innovation- they find loopholes in the processes and use them as opportunities. Many scholars debate on the fact whether entrepreneurs are born or made? The phenomenon of personality as a foundation for distinct behaviour begs the same argument- whether personality is born or is it made? Is a human being a product of nature or nurture? At times certain skills and characteristics of people which are nurtured over time motivate him or her to become an entrepreneur in the future. Similarly, inherited skills may encourage a person to direct him or herself towards the path of business management. Bolton & Thompson (2004, p-21) in their book have concluded that entrepreneurs are both born and made. In some cases they are born having natural skills while in other cases, entrepreneurs are made after learning the rules of business.Entrepreneurs work in an open, unstructured environment in which they have to do tasks from scratch-they have to begin from primary levels to reach the top (Zhao & Seibert, 2006, p-260). This statement suggests that entrepreneurs have to keep a balance between work-life, family and avoid conflicts between them. This work load, financial stake and work environment may lead to physical and psychological stress. In such situations people with high self-confidence and self-efficacy can survive these strong external pressures. Entrepreneurs are said to have low neuroticism which a term used for the accumulation of positive

After making it to Australia, as if having to put up with trying to build a new life in a foreign country was not enough, Do’s father left them. Do survived and changed this environment by stepping up and supporting his family through the job he did, studying up to university and doing comedy (Do, 2010).I enjoyed reading The Happiest Refugee and largely, I agree with Do’s views. According to the history texts I have read, I realize that he presents quite a good account of the life in Vietnam especially at the time of the war. Like in any other war-torn country, I agreed with Do that life in Vietnam was unbearable and his family’s decision to leave Vietnam was the best. Probably, Do could not have made it to be a successful comedian were it not for their leaving Vietnam. As risky as it was, I felt I could not blame Do’s family for their decision to use the ocean in search of a safe refuge. When war breaks out, victims of war are extremely fearful and they lack the time to decide on the best route out of their current problems. They were lucky to live through two pirate attacks. I have read in the newspapers that in the current times, the issue of the people who come into Australia via the ocean has brought contention especially in the political arena (Do, 2010).The experiences that my refugees friends have shared with me help me identify with Do’s account of the difficulty they experienced starting life in Australia. Most of them have told me that most of the people in the host country were unwelcoming and extremely suspicious at first. Similar to the stories I have read and heard, Do got inspiration from his mother, brother, and sister. Do lived though arduous work in the hands of unfriendly employers and property owners. While as a refugee, both nuclear and extended family become one’s source of encouragement before they make friends with the local people. It was, however, surprising to discover that Do

Case Study - Retail Internationalization: Gaining Insights from the Wal-Mart Experience in South Korea | Subjects: Business - Masters John Kennedy was morally inept, and as a result, he delved into many sexual activities with his numerous mistresses. From all the analysis gathered through the research, certain deductions could be made about the life of John Kennedy, both before his ascendency to the presidential throne as well as his life as the president of America- that his entire life cannot be fully separated from the entire family. This could be seen as a result of the strong family cult which the father, Joseph Patrick Kennedy built- a cult that saw to the political rise of the Kennedys. Even though the scope of this assignment is limited to John Kennedy and how his family influenced his life both as an individual person as well as the president of the United States of America, it could be recalled that such an influence was not felt by him alone. Rather, his entire siblings experienced such a powerful influence, which saw to the emergence of three senators from the family, namely- John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Edward Kennedy. Both were senators, both only John Kennedy, the eldest surviving son of his parents made it to the presidency. This paper makes a conclusion that the role which their father played cannot be forgotten in a hurry. Hence, it is very important to point out that the success of John Kennedy cannot come to the limelight without the political and financial strength of his father, who used every connection within his power to secure a seat for his son in the American presidency. At first, there was an earthquake in the city of Tenochtitlan, which was later followed by a flood in Lake Texcoco nearby. Both these events caused considerable damage to the Empire. Lives were lost, and resources were used up that could not be replenished quickly. What is more, there was an effect on the morale of the Aztecs as well. They held the belief that these natural disasters, along with some paranormal phenomena supposedly observed by some, foretold the fall of their empire. The Aztec Empire employed, as written before, a combination of trade and military tactics to expand their territory. This entailed that they were constantly involved in military conflicts. These military conflicts took their toll, not only on the resources of the Empire, but also on the Aztec warriors. These warriors, or soldiers, had constant warring on their hand, as they had to keep the rebellious tribes in check. Another factor that took its toll on the Aztec population was their practice of human sacrifice. Although it was not a unique phenomenon, however, the Aztec Empire was accustomed to sacrificing humans on a very large scale. They sacrificed thousands of their own people at the altars of their gods under one pretext or another.

The one-story building is constructed of cement block, with no windows, and meets all hurricane-related building codes. The clinic does accept animals for boarding when a hurricane threatens, as public shelters for local residents do not allow animals. When developing a sound disaster recovery plan, there are systematic measures an organization must take to accomplish this task. One of the first such method is developing preventative measures that function to aid the organization ahead of time. In terms of the veterinary clinic adequate preventative measures include ensuring that the building is current with hurricane protection standards and that it is properly insured. While an organization cannot prevent a hurricane from occurring that can prevent further structural damage from occurring by making sure that these building codes are up to contemporary standards, and are insured in case of a potential failure. Special consideration must be given to the nature of the business as housing animals. Proper preventative measures will ensure that the structure is either strong enough to withstand a hurricane, and if it is deemed not, that there will be adequate measures developed for animal transportation. In these regards, the disaster care plan will ensure that the animals can be temporarily moved to a veterinary clinic outside the immediate county through the aid of a UHAUL truck. There are various forms of sources of energy that San Antonio city has embarked on establishing so as to meet the great need for energy that the city has currently (Michael, 2010).The major power projects that are supplying the energy need in this city includes the CPS Energy, the Texas Grid, solar power, On-grid wind generation and off-grid power generation for individual homes and business. This study embarks on discussing the entire energy project in this city and how they have helped in addressing the energy needs that the city has. The most important thing to understand is that environmental conservation is a core objective of the city of San Antonio, Texas (Paul, 1998). Therefore, all the energy sources are established in line with the need to conserve the environment and eliminate any form of environmental pollution. No wonder then, renewable energy has become the core for energy sources in the city of San Antonio, Texas.CPS Energy of San Antonio, is the largest city municipality owned energy utility, that provides both electric and gas energy (Jones, 2007). The revenues generated from this utility are huge, and they account for above 20% of the city’s operating budget every year (Michael, 2010). The utility was founded in 1942, and it is well known to serve above a million energy consumers, both in electrify and gas energy. The utility is comprised of a range of fuel generation combination, with nuclear power, coal, renewable energy and natural gas, a fact that has made this utility a very effective one for its clientele (Paul, 1998). For electric energy, CPS energy is the sole licensed producer supplying the electricity energy need for its territory that is well over 4060 square kilometers. The electricity energy produced by this utility is sufficient to serve all the electric energy need so f the resident clientele and for wholesale to other municipalities in the south Texas, that are

One of the health impacts associated with the use of these fuels involves the exposure to smoke released from the burning fuels. Studies have shown that people exposed to indoor smoke from the traditional fuels have a greater risk of suffering from respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema, compared to people using clean fuels such as electricity for the various domestic energy needs (Parikh, 2011). Smoke from the traditional fuels is likely to exacerbate diseases such as asthma, and chronic bronchitis whose occurrence is significantly influenced by air pollution. Such diseases are likely increase in prevalence with continued use of these fuels and therefore, public health systems should focus on educating people on the need to invest in clean energy sources as well as support the introduction of new innovations capable of reducing the health risks associated with the use of traditional fuels. In addition, biomass fuels impact negatively the ecosystem through pollution involving increased release of carbon dioxide as well as formation of smog. Here, leaders were trained and consequently, they went to teach the unreachable and the people who had little or no knowledge about Jesus.Missionaries have aimed to develop methods to help in the growth of the church and many ways have been used in its development. The growth of the church depends on its ability and how it nurtures its believers. According to Hunter III, “a local church experiences expansion church growth when people enter the church’s ranks and become new members” (2009, n.p.). The church can experience three kinds of growth namely biological, transfer and conversion growth. Biological growth occurs when parents bring their children to the church and the children grow in that church, rising through the ranks, until they old and bring their children. Transfer growth occurs when members of another church move into a church and are received there. Conversion growth occurs when new Christians from all over the world become members of a church.Through media: The earliest Christians didn’t have churches or buildings to worship in. They instead worshipped in homes or under trees. They neither had public ceremonies nor mass media to share information. Before the development of the internet, there were great barriers and challenges to passing information. Due to the advanced technologies

This is a philosophy invented by Dr William Edwards Deming born in 1900and later became an American statistician, professor, author, lecturer and consultant. Deming received a BSC in electrical engineering from the University of Wyoming at Laramie (1921), an M.S. from the University of Colorado (1925), and a Ph.D. from Yale University (1928). Both graduate degrees were in mathematics and physics. Deming had an internship at Bell Telephone Laboratories while studying at Yale.He later worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Census Department. While working under Gen. Douglas MacArthur as a census consultant to the Japanese government, he famously taught statistical process control methods to Japanese business leaders, returning to Japan for many years to consult and witness the economic growth he had predicted would come as a result of the application of techniques he had taught them. As an author Deming wrote Out of the Crisis (1982–1986) and The New Economics for Industry, Government, Education (1993), which includes his System of Profound Knowledge and the 14 Points for Management. In 1947, Deming was involved in early planning for the 1951 Japanese Census. The Allied powers were occupying Japan, and thus asked by the United States Department of the Army to assist with the census. While in Japan In 1960, the Prime Minister of Japan (Nobusuke Kishi), on behalf of the then Emperor Hirohito, awarded Deming Japan’s Order of the Sacred Treasure, Second Class recognizing his contributions to Japan’s industrial rebirth and its worldwide success.Demings expertise in quality control techniques, combined with his involvement in Japanese society, led to his receiving an invitation from the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE). A number of Japanese manufacturers applied his techniques widely and experienced heretofore unheard-of levels of quality and

There have also been guidelines that have been given by other government agencies and recommendations on management and prevention of further infection of the disease.Staying health is a factor that is considered in management of the patients. In this aspect, management of the patients should include taking medication as directed. When medicine is not taken as directed, there is lowering the level of immunity that defends the body causing the level of virus in the body to go up (Wnuk, 2008).This reduces the effectiveness of medicine when they are taken. In staying healthy, one should tell the doctor if there are side effects as a result of using to help the doctor help with dealing with the side effects.Telling about the status is a management practice that should also be considered. One infected with HIV should make sure that the other partners are aware of the status. This will make them be able to take care and reduce the risk of contracting the infection. Management of this situation should involve contacting health departments who offer partner services to help the partners about the exposure. Through the services, the staff is able to find drug and sex partners to tell them the risk of being exposed to HIV and STDs.Not taking risk is a management practice that should be considered in management. HIV is spread through body fluids. The most common spread of the disease is through unprotected sex and through sharing sharp objects and other drug equipment. Viral load is important in a person living with the infection since the higher the viral infection, the higher the risk of spreading the virus. Protection aspect is important. When there are other infections that occur in a person living with the infection, there should be no taking chances. The person should get tested and treated for the infections. A person with HIV and other infections
