The point of the disagreement is the piano. Boy Willie has travelled to Pittsburgh to get his portion of the piano, which is presently in the ownership of Berniece, his sister. Boy Willie is a ruffian, and thinks that the profit from the piano gives him his finest opportunity to surpass the social and economic persecution that has troubled the men in his family (Boan 73). Yet, his vision of a better life is prevented by the refusal of Berniece to put on sale what is, she believes, a very important symbol the family&rsquo-s history. All over the play, therefore, the piano becomes a criterion through which conflicting perceptions of the past could be assessed. The outcome is that Wilson has re-interpreted the difficulties of bearing the weight of history, which is at the core of his other stories, into an issue of how to use history in the most effective way. As Wilson said (Krasner 327): &ldquo-The real issue is the piano, the legacy. How are you going to use it?&rdquo- Wilson dreamed of writing a ten-play series that would highlight the history of African Americans in his country. He tool on the responsibility of an ancestral &lsquo-griot&rsquo- whose obligation was to protect and perpetuate his culture&rsquo-s history and heritage: &ldquo-&hellip- the role of the griot is significant since it is with him we mark the beginning of African literary tradition as we know it&rdquo- (Miller 97). So as to accomplish this he engaged in his ten-play series which would introduce the experience of the African Americans to his fellow citizens and to the rest of the world. Thesis Proposal - Academic development strategies for undergraduate students | Subjects: Education - UndergraduateTerm Paper - Report on Foreign Direct Investment of The Toyota Motor Corporation | Subjects: Business - College

ProcedureThe setup of the apparatus involved a beam that was in the machine with the gauge across the beam&rsquo-s depth. It was loaded in flexure. The load in the concrete beam was increased uniformly from 0KN up to a load of 41.95KN. From the gauge reading taken, there was very little deflection at the beginning. The increase of the load was gradual. The beam first had a crack at the bottom when the load applied in the middle of the beam reached 10KN. There was a record of all gauge readings and deflections with each increment. Further increments of 2KN followed but with only the deflection readings recorded. At the point where the beam deflection started increasing rapidly, the deflection gauge was removed. The beam was then loaded up to failure. The beam failed at 41.95 KN.The table below shows the results of the observations and readings from the gauge and applied load in the experiment. DiscussionI. The development of cracksThe beam experience different loading conditions where the deflection on of the beam indicated the effect of the load on the beam. More increases to the load took the concrete beam to its elastic limit. Beyond the elastic limit, the beam experience permanent deformation. At a load of 10KN, the beam started developing cracks as it had reached its elastic limit. The cracked section demonstrates the behaviour of the material. It was elastic with light loads but with high loads, it became plastic and cracks started to appear. This project would talk about one component of marketing mix which is pricing strategies. The project is projected to address the pricing strategies that are followed by Easy Jet Airline and compare the price with the British Airways. Role of Pricing The fundamental rule of supply and demand states that when there is excess of supply over demand, the price tends to go down and when there is excess of demand over supply of products, the price tends to rise. Thus it can be suggested that prices moves upwards or falls in order to eliminate the risk of excess demand and to bring the supply and demand in the same equilibrium. Price is one of the most important components of marketing mix but also its importance does vary from product to products. Prices are based on certain calculation of cost providing the result in unit cost which tends to remain constant or reduces. The nominal price is determined by the prudence which is often experienced by a customer in the process of acquisition of their personal needs and human wants. It is actually the value that the customer expects from the price paid. The type is market price at which the products are sold off. Market prices rise and fall when the offers exceed the demand or stays below the demand.

The feminine nature, on the other hand, is mostly favored by the aerobics section of the gym that requires comparatively less effort.Diverse facilities are visible in the gym like nautilus studio line of a pin-loaded weight. The equipment has design specifications for the feminine gender. It requires the use of little effort hence favoring the females mostly. The equipment is suitable for the feminine gender since it requires less strenuous energy that the society perceives the females to possess. On the other hand, larger heavier weights designed for the masculine gender are present. The equipment requires the use of comparably more effort hence not favorable for the feminine gender. The society perceives the masculine gender as being stronger capable of withstanding the strenuous energy that such like equipment require.Nguyen in the article, ‘’You Say You Want A Revolution,’’ highlights Moallem’s argument on how instabilities are visible in the histories of forced unveiling and forced veiling. Essay - Economic in Society | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Undergraduate A woman can try harder to be taken seriously but it totally depends upon the other person weather he takes you and your ideas seriously or not. To be taken seriously means that a person pay attention to and reply to you. It also means that what you think and what you do matters to others. However, it does not mean to be appreciated or to be respected. If a person thinks that your ideas are innocent, senseless or ordinary then he or she is not taking you seriously (Enloes, 2014).This chapter is based on a public conservation that took place on October 26, 2004, during an important UN peacekeeping and philanthropic support operation in Haiti. This event was directed and presented by Carol Cohn. The speech was started by Nadine Puechguirbal who has a PhD in political science. She started talking about the flood that took place in Haiti and how the hurricane destroyed a city named Gonaives. She also talked about how the UN community provided charitable support the people of Gonaives. The people of Gonaives lost their houses and were living in shelters provide by the UN communities. In these very shelters violence was going on against women by the men so that they could get control over the shelters, food and water. These women did not get anything to eat or drink and therefore they started selling themselves to get food. A few cases of sexual violence were also reported in Gonaives. This book mentions that humanitarian communities are working to provide security to the women so that they can protect themselves as well as their shelter and food. The War of Terror is one of the most destructive and enormous combats between different countries of the world that caused massive destruction of societies, beliefs, buildings and financial well-being, trust of the public and other bodies. Focus groups in both hotels were interviewed and, using the results of the survey, for each hotel there was made a conclusion concerning soft skill environment. Notwithstanding the awaited expectations, the results appeared to be completely different. All in all, the authors of the article agree that the traditional conception of “skill” has somehow changed and it is now associated not only with technical knowledge, but also with interpersonal communication abilities. They have brought a new notion and “strengthened the conceptual understanding of soft skills” (2013: 176) by showing how these skills perform in two cases. This is a considerable contribution to traditional sociology, service economy and even trade industry. The issue of skill nature is the subject of ongoing discussions in sociology of work in particular. This phenomenon was investigated and studied by a number of scientists. Traditional notion of skill was with the course of time complemented with additional shades, thus social or soft skills become recognized (Grugulis et al., 2004). They are treated in different ways. For instance, Bolton (2004) argues that emotion work can be skilled. According to her, soft skilled workers have enough scope for discretion and are able to deal with a variety of tasks. However, there is another point of view. Lloyd and Payne (2009) consider the idea of promoting soft skills inadequate and even dangerous. They argue that it is impossible to train the skills of social interaction, so soft skills cannot be regarded equal to technical ones.It is worthy of note that both aforementioned approaches have their drawbacks. The first, positive view has its exceptions. Being emotional or communicative is not enough for a work to be regarded as skilled. And on the other hand, the negative approach has its weak point. Technical skills which imply specific knowledge are simply Assignment - Business Assignment | Subjects: Miscellaneous - High school However, at least until 1949, the Russian threat was not significant in its scope and character. It assumed ominous proportions only when Russia began deploying the tool of communism influencing the people and nations of Europe. More to that, the Soviet Russia exploded its nuclear bomb that nullified the US lead over Russia. Due to changing circumstances, economic assistance was not just enough to establish the confidence in the Europe- however, the rearmament of West Germany, and military assistance in Europe became necessary to tackle soviet expansionary motives. Adding fuel to the fire, the Korean War intensified the cold war between two super powers. Truman soon realized that democratically elected governments anywhere in the world would be in jeopardy if the communist aggression having support from Russia was not resisted strongly (Gaddis, 1974).Thus, the Truman Doctrine emerged not in isolation but essentially to counter expansionary Stalin Doctrine. In 1947, President Truman, while addressing a joint session of congress, asked for $400 million economic and military aid for Greece and Turkey with an aim to contain communist onslaught in those countries (Merril, 2006). In fact, between 1947 and 1949, several policy measures were taken by the establishment that included the Truman Doctrine, the Marshall Plan, the Vandenberg Revolution, and the North Atlantic Treaty. It is important to notice that President’s doctrine for the first time had military and economic perspective to contain the soviet communism. These were mainly the psychological measures aimed at developing confidence in the minds of Europeans about democratic means and ways against the juggernaut of communism (Gaddis, 1974).Truman doctrine was hugely successful in its objectives in the sense that it halted the Soviet insurgency in Greek. Moreover, between 1948 and 1952, technical support grants, and loans extended to Europe amounting

Management and control of the hospital’s budget is also under my docket. This is done in collaboration with other hospital stakeholders that include hospital donors and well-wishers and the hospital’s specialists working in the human resource and accounting departments. This kind of job also involves working in unison with my fellow health specialists heading different departments in the hospital. Ensuring the hospital operates within government regulations is a task that I should carry out as the health administrator in this hospital. It should be noted that this kind of profession requires a medical and managerial training and educational background of the highest level. I must admit that it is a demanding job that requires a lot of concentration and sacrifice. I have always dreamt of pursuing a career in human health sciences. I first pursued a dental degree in Dental Sciences and later did my Master of Science degree in administration of healthcare services. In recent times, most healthcare institutions have gripped the idea of hiring Healthcare administrators who hold masters degrees or a correlated higher academic qualification. Clinical experience is also a requirement for this job. Internships offered by medical colleges and universities help students to accumulate the necessary experience required when working in any hospital or healthcare organization(s). After completion of these entire training procedures, one has to acquire an operating license of which one has to pass his/her licensing tests. Obtaining a master’s degree and gaining the required clinical experience does not signify the end of pursuing education in healthcare matters. They cannot therefore willingly give up that piece of land because it is theirs. Israeli troops occupied and guarded the area for years but this did not stop the Palestine from fighting for it. In 2005 however, Israel left the Gaza region and withdrew their troops from the area. However as soon as they left, a group that is highly suspected to be terrorist organization known as Hamas moved into the region and took control of the area.Israel had no problem with the group until they started it started violence wanting the Israelis to move out simply because it insists it does not recognize Israel as a country. This infuriated the Israelis and because of the violence directed to them and the threat of being evicted from their home country, Israelis returned their soldiers in the region and put Gaza under blockade where it controls its borders including those who go in and out, in short, they have Gaza under strict surveillance.Palestinians have been disadvantaged by the settlement of the Israeli. They do not have a stronger military power compared to Israeli nor can they match their intelligence. In light of the Hamas settling into Gaza, their lives have been turned like those of prisoners not to mention the other Palestinian prisoners held by Israeli. The father takes his graduation certificate to the area in their house where they put such-like credentials. It is sad thing since the son had not taken good care of the certificate. Ah-Q was away from his hometown for a while and the dwellers were wondering where he had been. According to this story, he was studying and working somewhere else, away from his own hometown during this time. Ah-Q’s return was quite a story to be told. This shows that education was not widespread in China as was seen in the other previous story. It can be seen from these two stories that the Chinese situation is a quite a slower scenario of literacy in comparison to that of Japan. Ah-Q was working for a provincial leader while not in college. He was in fact a servant in the house belonging to a renowned Provincial candidate. The current discourse hereby aims to present virtual collaboration through lessons learned from in-class and online events summaries, as perceived to be applicable in a future career.Virtual collaboration through social events was recognized to be the most popular, by far. The most relevant lessons learned from social events include the following: (1) selection of topics which are interesting to prospective participants- (2) using communication medium that would reach the target audience: social networking sites, email, smartphones, among others- (3) use of innovative approaches, like gamification- and (4) assignment of roles, or delegation of tasks by events’ organizers. One learned that there are disparities in techniques in in-class versus online events. For in-class social events, there are opportunities for face-to-face interactions to augment virtual collaboration, when needed. For instance, organizers could require weekly face-to-face group meetings to resolve conflicts, iron out concerns, and monitor the progress of assigned tasks. In contrast, in purely on-line social events where there are no opportunities for face-to-face interactions, the participants rely solely on online or electronic medium to communicate. The main topic of the essay "Islamic Art" is the profound analysis of islamic architectural style and mosques in particular. For example, The Selimiye Mosque (1569-75), an Ottoman mosque in the city of Edirne in Turkey, has been one of the most magnificent illustrations of Islamic architecture and the mosque was commissioned by Sultan Selim II. Selimiye has been the most important monument in the historic city of Edirne, which was the capital of the Ottoman Empire before the conquest of Istanbul. In conclusion the author considers that, a reflective exploration of the various processes in the construction of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne confirms that it is one of the most magnificent illustrations of Islamic architecture in general and Ottoman architecture in particular. It is the masterpiece by the celebrated Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan who has been effective in both outdoing the size and grandeur of the venerable Byzantine monument and in continuing a dialogue with his own Suleymaniye Mosque that was built twenty years earlier. In a profound understanding of the architectural and technological quality of this magnificent mosque, one comes to recognize why most modern historians regard it as the culminating achievement of Sinan’s distinguished fifty-year career as the chief architect of the Ottoman court. In short, the Selimiye Mosque can best be considered as the most important mosque in the city of Edirne which is well-known for its mosques, the elegant domes and minarets.

Consider a couple named Chet and Margorie that had been married for ten years. Oftentimes Chet is a very domineering husband and many times has hit and abused his wife because he believed she did not do an adequate job of cleaning the house. While it’s easy to consider that Chet is just a violent person, one must also consider what would occur if Chet had a janitor that did not properly clean his office. In these regards, it seems clear that Chet would not attack the janitor. While Chet’s exact motivations are not easily discernable, Jacobson (1998) indicates that spousal abuse is oftentimes linked to dysfunctional relationship patterns and modes of communication within the household. Markowitz (2000) also indicates that spousal abuse more readily occurs, or is deemed ‘acceptable’ as compared to public violence, as the abuser is able to rely on the abused person’s emotional or financial dependence to ensure they will not receive punishment. In these regards, the abused person is often unable to leave or inform the authorities about the abuse because they rely on the abuser for their survival. While the earlier instance considers spousal abuse, family abuse also occurs in other forms. Consider the instance of David and Marie.

Being the protagonist, he has shown an incredibly unbelievable wit and courage for his age, giving away his treasure to the lawyer only to protect it from his squandering father. He was quite creative to have made up a solution for his problems regarding his father and other problems he faced along the way. His courage would be much admired, braving the difficulties of living on his own and trying to survive a cruel world. As the hero of the story, Huck was not just presented with difficulties he had to overcome by his father or other people around him but by the works of nature as well like death and fear, making him have the feelings of the audience toward him. In addition to this role, Huck is also the focal character who stirs up the curiosity in the reader to the next event of his life, holding their attention to the end of the story. His being the focal character also raises excitement in the audience as well as his emotions but not necessarily to empathize with the character. As the protagonist, the character of Huck was the most essential in the story because the narration is molded around his character and the events in his life. Since these numbers must be absorbed into the system, public expenditures on education are continually rising to unsustainable levels. The challenge on financing is increasingly being felt, negatively impacting knowledge transfer. The second factor affecting transfer of knowledge is culture. Most Middle East countries have very conservative cultural norms. This is especially evident in the role of women. Women are generally perceived to be less capable in leadership positions, family priorities, etc. Although the trends are gradually changing, a father in Saudi Arabia has the impression that he is better placed to educate his son than his daughter. This implies that there are generally less girls than boys in schools- the reasons as to this why are purely cultural. Consequently, the society remains less educated inhibiting the flow of knowledge. The third factor is political instability. Saudi Arabia as a country has not experienced any form of political turmoil in recent years. However, Yemen, Iran and Syria are all countries that have experienced political unrest in one form or another. This affects neighbors of such countries- Saudi Arabia being one of them. This civil unrest in the aforementioned countries may spread to Saudi, considering the fact that it, like those countries, is headed by a monarchy – a contributive factor for the unrest sweeping across Arab countries in recent times. This unrest affects all sectors of the country’s landscape, part of which education and information are.Western countries have been major drivers of technology, a factor that continues to revolutionize the acquisition and dissemination of information. However, the Middle East has continued to display anti-Western tendencies. Iraq has been investing in nuclear power plants, an effort that does not sit well with the West and the world in general while Iran openly expresses ‘hate’ for the United States. This means that Middle

England made its attempts to form colonies in the seventeenth century and these attempts were successful. At this time, there was no official intention to form colonies in America but the motivation among the people was to explore and live in a richer environment. The main stage of European settlements was in the eighteenth century when the thirteen fully formed European colonies started a rebellion against the British rule and soon afterwards declared themselves as independent and became the United States of America. The migration pattern, as mentioned above, was as follows- initially Spain formed settlements followed by Mexico, France, Netherland, Sweden, and then England. Even before that, US social legislation had passed Oregon Death with Dignity Act (ODDA) in the year 1994. Apart from these, in the year 1973, United States had developed the Health Maintenance Organisation Act (HMO), which has been implemented widely in healthcare industry till the present scenario. Besides, the United States government had passed the Social Security Act in the year 1935, which has established the principle of federal aid for the people of America. Moreover, during the World War-I in the year 1919, the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates officially convicted compulsory health insurance for the public of the United States. Besides, AMA had also restricted the involvement of third parties in between the patient and medical aspects (Sultz & Young, 2010).With regard to the impact of the identified milestones and benchmark events on the healthcare system, it can be apparently asserted that the benchmarking events or milestones have contributed to the development of the American healthcare industry significantly. During the year 1940, 9% of the U.S. population had health insurance, which had exceeded the figure of around 74% by the year 1986 (Sultz & Young, 2010). On the other hand, through Social Security Act, the American government has been able to address several diseases and has been capable of improving the quality of food, drugs and cosmetics for consumer protection. Furthermore, through the help of Health Maintenance Organisations the American government has been capable of promoting health and preventing illnesses. Consequently, Oregon Death with Dignity Act has allowed adult incurably ill residents of Oregon to select the path of self-administration of lethal drugs to end their own lives. Skateboarding does not have to be confined in urban spaces as Wanner believes. Skateboarding represents creative play that it is universally appreciated by children and adults alike all over the world. It area of play is not only “Where there is an asphalt space of sprawl” but also in the asphalts and deserts of Middle East. In fact, skateboarding may be more beneficial and may be more appreciated in the Middle East than in the urban centers of California because many children are scathe by war in those regions whose growth and development is interrupted by war. Skateboarding, being creative and playful as it is, has a big place among those children in the war torn countries in the Middle East to at least provide them with the coping mechanism with the terror of war they are exposed of.The extent, fierceness and length of war in the Middle East that had exposed countless of children that leaves one to wonder not only on the depth of the scathe that war had left on the children but also on the interruption of their development. Play according to Smilansky and Shefatya, play is essential to children’s social competence and maturity (cited in Jalongo, 2014). Play could also be a very good antidote to extremism because it undermines the very foundation of extremism which is intolerance. Play according to Smilansky and Shefatya let children experience other’s “points of view by working through conflicts about space, materials, or rules positively” (cited Jalongo, 2014). Through seeing and experiencing other people’s perspectives, children learns to become tolerant and more resistant to extremist ideologies thereby could reduce if not totally remove extremism in the region. Finally, skateboarding or any other play should be experienced by children. Let children be children to have fun and have a sense of wonder in discovering the world. Play by itself with an atmosphere of laughing children creates a positive society where

The airports’ responsibility is to ensure that only those who have authorized access to the airfield can get in. the responsibility of airlines under ASIA is to screen passengers and baggage. Most airlines normally contract the services of private security companies to carry out the screenings. Under the Airports Security Improvement Act, it is the responsibility of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to regulate the overall activities of airports, security companies and airlines. A shift has occurred on the emphasis and need of aviation security as a response to emerging incidences in the recent past (Elias, 2009). ASIA was passed into law in an effort to accelerate the development of an efficient Explosive Detection System (EDS) as a means of enhancing security in airports and airlines. We built the front panel with the help of interactive controls and indicators. After the making of the front panel, we have given codes to each of the components of the front panel using graphical representations of functions in order to control the front panel objects. The block diagram helped us in giving graphical source codes to each component of the front panel. After giving the codes, we tested our programming and succeeded in getting the RPM and the voltage as expected. We made RPM control and target RPM in the front panel. We measured the RPM with the help of a box provided for the measurement of the RPM. Apart from the RPM measurement, we also plotted the waveform chart including amplitude and time. The device name, supply polarity, and the status are given at the top of the front panel, In order to plot the block diagram, we built a while loop in which everything was wired. The RPM control was connected to the target RPM with the help of wires whereas the waveform chart was wired with a combined signal. The combined signal was wired with the RPM measure and target RPM, and the RPM measured correctly. The w signal showed the loop condition in the while loop. A clean up code at the top of the block diagram, was wired to the while loop. At the same time, the device name and supply polarity were displayed at the left of the block diagram. In order to measure the RPM and voltage, we created a spreadsheet on MS Excel. A vertical line shown in the graph proved the direct relationship between the RPM and the voltage. In other words, when the voltage increases, the RPM also increases whereas when the voltage decreases, the RPM also decreases. To conclude, the purpose of this experiment was to control the DC motor speed and direction using NI ELVIS and Labview. After the completion of this experiment we were able to control both the DC motor speed and direction using NI ELVIS and

Essay - Human Resource Management "Positive Discipline Policy" | Subjects: Miscellaneous - Undergraduate The South Korean government and the U.S. government differ in terms of its basic structure, the branches of the government, electoral system, and political parties- however, they are similar in terms of corruption allegations and violations of human rights- and that the solution to these is an independent judiciary and a rigid constitution. Essay - "Overview of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry" | Subjects: Tourism - Ph.D. For example: a major example of sensory adaption is that way an individual’s body becomes comfortable with the temperature or the weather. When human body comes in contact with hot water, the first experience is unpleasant and the body may experience a burning sensation, but as the body continues to be in contact with hot water, the body becomes comfortable with the temperature of the water. Memory Memory is a component of human body that comprises of three process including encoding, storage and retrieval. Encoding takes place when an individual processes information into his/her memory. For example: Remembering what was taught in class lectures due to access concentration towards the lecture defines the process of encoding. Information is then stored in three types of memory in three stages. Class lecture is stored first in the sensory memory though the sense of hearing. The lecture is then transferred to the short term memory with the assistance of process of rehearsing and in this stage human beings generate meaning of the information obtained. The lecture learned is then transferred to the long term memory where the stored lecture is recalled by students when they give exams or respond to instructor’s questions.

Two particular theories or principles that have been applied in law are Categorical Imperative (CI) by Immanuel Kant and the Greatest Happiness Principle (GHP) by Stuart Mill. Kant’s categorical imperative theory provides a way of evaluating the motives behind an action. According to Kant1 (27), an imperative refers to any proposition that declares a particular action or inaction as necessary. Obligations and duties are therefore derived from these imperatives. On the other hand, a categorical imperative refers to a requirement that is absolute and unconditional, and asserts its authority in all conditions. A violation of the categorical imperatives constitutes immorality. CI sets duty as an act done out of respect for the moral law (Kant2 54). In relation to this, the moral worth of an action cannot be derived from its consequences. This means that the source of moral worth of an action is the ground principle or reason under which an act is performed irrespective of the desired outcomes or all other aspects. From these explanations, an action can only be said to have moral content if it was done with an absolute regard of a sense of moral duty. Kant applies a deontological approach in his ideas. For example, an action is only termed as being moral if it possesses a certain universal value. A maxim refers to a ground principle of action or a ground rule.
