The first and most apparent recognized use is as communications apparatus with people you already have a strong acquaintance. Email and instantaneous messaging has gone way past the previous adopter phase. For many enterprises, societies and families, it has become one of the prevailing forms of communication. Email is up there with the telephone, and more and more is replacing physical mail and fax. This is fascinating. It took the telephone eons to be at par with this level of acknowledgement for such routine uses. Fax never reached it for personal utilizations (Zittrain, 2009). On the other hand, the Internet has been also used as an information-collecting tool. Reports by Pew Internet Project show that over 50 percent of adult Internet consumers utilized the Internet, most probably, for job-connected research. On any given day, nearly 16 percent of Internet consumers are online doing research. Ninety-four percent of youth ages 12-17 who have Internet access claim that they utilize the Internet for social research. Seventy-one percent of online teenagers assert that they utilized the Internet as a key source for their current major school project or report. The health care sector today faces serious challenges regarding the affordability, quality and coverage of its services. There are about forty seven million Americans without any health insurance coverage (“What's Wrong with America's Health Care”).Even larger is the number of those suffering from chronic illness and are on the waiting lists of Medicare and Medicaid without any proper medical treatment. Those who get the medical benefits from these government funded programs complaint about the quality of health care that they receive. These along with several other health care issues need immediate attention of the policy makers. There is a huge debate being carried out on the solutions to these problems. Different causes have been identified by various experts on the field which include expensive medical insurance, preemptive medication suggested by physicians leading to costly tests and drug purchase, market regulations imposed on the drug supply, fraud and deceit by the patients, and undue profiteering by the pharmaceutical companies. However, most of the analysts are of the view that all these problems can be traced back to one policy matter, and that is government’s involvement in the health care system. Those against the government’s regulations and financial involvement in the health care system argue that market and social trends are continuously changing in the modern societies. It is also possible for network managers to restrict or otherwise bock the service for specific types of traffic or threats. (Herman 2006) These tools can be as simple as blocking certain domains from access using open dns or as sophisticated as virus and spyware protection software products. (Korzeniowsk 1998)However there can sometimes be too much control and blocking useful resources can result from over zealous network traffic mangers. Blocking VoIP is just one such threat that may be considered. Blocking peer-to-peer traffic is also another example of the general problem of this threatened innovation. This can also fall into the commercialization of networking. Often many telecommunications executives have threatened to charge extra fees for valuable services simply because they can by blocking the service otherwise. “As soon as a new application increases the value of network resources… or disproportionately draws upon those resources…BSPs [Binary Space Partitioning] may have the economic incentive to surcharge or degrade those services.” (Herman 2006) BSPs can therefore extort fees from users in direct proportion to thier perceived value of the new advancement. Conversely they can also block bandwidth-intensive mechanisms instead of upgrading their networks. “This systematically favours the technological status quo, reducing the competition for new online innovations and therefore reducing social welfare.” (Herman 2006) Many users have seen this on their existing network where upgrades and updates are avoided rather than spending extra money on new equipment to increase memory and bandwidth. As more and more management tools become available there has been a need for management of the management tools. An excellent example of this is Microsoft’s Small Business Server (SBS) toolbox of management software. Using the windows SBS console the network manager can add view, and edit users quickly and

The end of this one man challenge would determine the victor, and those, who lost, would be subdued. The event is avidly described in 1 Samuel 17:41-58 where David approaches the battle line and upon exchanging a few words with Goliath, he hastens towards him, draws out his sling and a stone and with one swing, hits the giant on the forehead, stone sinks and he dies (“Bible Gateway passage,” n.d.-b).However, the text in 2 Samuel 21:18-22 is the primary source of contradiction. Verse 19 of the text states that a Jair’s son, Elhanan, killed the brother of Goliath. In the footnote of New International Version, it remarks that the original Hebrew text lacks the part “the brother of“, which can then imply that the text originally read that Elhanan killed Goliath (“Bible Gateway passage,” n.d.-c). There may be a valid argument in that viewpoint, but the text in 1 Chronicles 20:4-8 can help clear the contradiction. The text in that excerpt briefly describes the same events described in 2 Samuel 21:18-22 but there are no footnotes indicating that the words “the brother of” was absent in the original text (“Bible Gateway passage,” n.d.-a). This impression is applied, therefore, in the interpretation of the verse in second Samuel. With such developments, it is pretty much clear that Elhanan killed Goliath’s brother, and not Goliath. The event of Goliath being slain is well described in the text 1st Samuel that is convincing enough that David killed Goliath. In the readings provided, there are two people presented to have killed Goliath. The first one is David- son of Jesse, the Bethlehemite and the second is Elhanan, son of a Bethlememite man, Jair. In the 1 Samuel 17:41-58 text, David is vividly described to have killed Goliath, with a clear demonstration of events that took place during that day. This writing, therefore, supports the fact that David killed Goliath way better than Research Paper - Text Set-Literacy Curriculum | Subjects: Education - College fference Voice: Psychological Theory and Women’s Development,” Gilligan makes a forceful dispute that psychology has scientifically rejected women in attempting to answer questions about how human beings make moral judgments, and claims the pre-existence and significance of different voices which involve feminine, relationship, and emotional-oriented in moral reasoning. In the book, Gilligan (11-35) provides an immediate sensation that is embraced by the newly developed studies on women. The moral psychology as explained in the book straddles both philosophy and psychology by evaluating human’s approaches to ethical dilemmas. Whilst ethical reasoning is a generic human skill, psychologists assume that women and men differ. They provide assumptions that reign well for many centuries. In her book, Gilligan provides many and major arguments. The most important involves human puzzle in moral dilemma by ethic of justice and ethic of care (Gilligan 99-100). Gilligan shows much care while writing moral orientation, which is not aligned with gender, but on empirical relationship between different voices and women. Gilligan (100-114) argues that men make decisions regarding personal rights, and through such views, Gilligan argues that women are responsible for other individuals. Because of such imprinting and improvable notions, Gilligan draws women view in terms of connectedness, whereas men are viewed with regards to separation. As such, Gilligan seeks to elevate the status of such connectedness where she focuses on several studies performed by her colleagues (Gilligan and Richards 77-90).Carol’s works emphasize on sex differences in moral reasoning. It also focuses on the violence perspective, the resolution of sexual conflicts, and the abortion decisions (Gilligan 411-417). These factors create greater challenges through the introduction of feminist perspective with respect to moral development. Focusing on Kohlberg views on feminism, Kohlberg’ theory

Strategic formulation which is a key component of organizational entrepreneurship entails “the development of business mission, decisions both long term and short term objectives, and prioritizing strategies” (Karami, 2003). Dana (2004) notes that it is associated with deciding which resource is for what and in what amount, the process of entering international market or issues related to mergers with suppliers or sales agencies to diversify operations. Strategic formulation in business thus involves the perception of any strategy formulation process which has marked phases that are time-bound. Focus on Southwest Airlines This paper examines Southwest Airlines using SWOT Analysis in understanding its market penetration and product development strategic frameworks. It also draws the way forward for the airline to remain competitive. Bohm (2008) agrees that SWOT analysis has been used to evaluate and identify a number of areas in project formulation and Southwest is not an exception. The framework is used in mapping out the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Indeed, it is used to formulate strategic plans and crafting solutions to control situations. All these predominantly follow an in-depth analysis of external environmental factors that affect the market and operations of Southwest Airlines (Bohm, 2008). In order to sell more in the beginning, the production capacity had also been increased, but the result demonstrated that the demand was only half of the production. So, I have learned that it is not necessary to utilize all the resources as inventory got larger and it is not good for the company. We need to observe the internal position of the organization which will enable us to determine how well the company can manage the competitive and external environment. I also came to know that a strategic planning and critical success factors need to be developed for the products and services. SWOT (strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats) analysis must be carried out, which will allow the company to evaluate their strategic situation. The product life-cycle model needs to be taken into consideration in order to discuss how the cost of product can vary over a product’s life cycle. I also discovered that key performance indicators of the company need to be analyzed, through which we can know what factors are leading to its success and competitive advantage. I also learnt that working in a group is more beneficial than working as an individual as it comprises the ideas of four to five people and involve more communication and consequently leads to an enhanced decision making process. Soft skills need to be developed in order to resolve the conflict which arises in the discussion process within the group. At the same time, time management is also important for successful completion of a project.Strategic planning is defined as the method of defining the plans of the companies for achieving their missions. The strategy of an organization is therefore a derived approach towards attaining that mission. Essay - Training Program | Subjects: Human Resources - Ph.D. There are three identified major perspectives in sociology that aim to evaluate diverse social phenomena: “the symbolic interactionist perspective, the functionalist perspective, and the conflict perspective. These perspectives offer sociologists theoretical paradigms for explaining how society influences people, and vice versa”. The aim of the current essay is to apply two of the three sociological perspectives, particularly the functionalist and the conflict theories in the topic, drug and alcohol abuse among teenagers. The functionalist theory focuses on the interdependence of each aspect of society and a determination of how each aspect is contributory to its effective functioning. The Sociology Guide emphasized that the functionalist approach contends that “order, stability and cooperation in society are based on value consensus that is a general agreement by members of society concerning what is good and worthwhile” . On the other hand, the conflict theory “focuses on the negative, conflicted, and ever-changing nature of society. The conflict model holds that the most important aspect of social order is the domination of some groups by others, that society is best understood as an arena of actual and potential conflict, and that when things look peaceful, it is only because one faction controls or dominates a particular scenario. The conflict perspective to drug and alcohol abuse have been explained in terms of specifically identifying which drugs are illegal and therefore tend to be highly susceptible to abuse.

There are several things that can be done to change America to utopia. Some of these things may have certain disadvantages. However, it is also true that majority of benefits may accrue from them. One of the things that may be done to change America to nowhere is ensuring that barriers are limited for the international community to access America (Frazier et al, 31). This may be done by reducing the number of requirements as well as qualifications that anybody wishing to come to America may have to meet. This may include reducing the number of policies that bar such movements involving migrations as well as immigrations to America. The influx of such people to America is quite advantageous to the American society as well as America as a whole. This is because, when the rate of immigration is heightened, a number of people will find their way into the country. This will be economically beneficial in a number of ways. First, the rate of consumption of the American goods by such a growing population will massively shoot. This will place more demands on the goods and services from the American industries thereby impacting positively on the businesses in America. This is quite beneficial to both the American society as well as America as a country. This follows that the economy of the country will be affected in an appreciating perspective, thereby leading to more economic stabilization (Frazier et al, 41).In addition, it is of crucial significance to note that the process of learning is always affected in a certain manner following the entry of alien individuals in a new land. Therefore, changing America to nowhere relates to an increase in accessibility of the country by people of different origin, races, ethnicity as well as cultures (Frazier et al, 47). This promotes the issue of intercultural education. This helps in

This paper declares that cognition of every child tends to be different from another. This means that the level at what one child tends to perceive will be quite different from another child having the same age and circumstances. This merely means that the capability of each individual is different from another. Therefore comparing cognition f one child to another is practically useless as that would only undermine confidence. The only way to overcome this problem is that one needs to critically evaluate the child's way of learning, capabilities and social interaction and then device a way to deal and nurture the cognition in accordance with the child's pace of development. This essay makes a conclusion that cognition is an essential feature of a child's development. It gives a child the capability to understand the world that surrounds him, develop his perception about various things and finally build up his stance on the things. Cognition is a major area of concern which at times is neglected especially when it comes to the lower class as they usually do not spend much time and the required attention on the cognition of their child in the early years which causes them to suffer eventually. Cognitive development in early years of education is also essential because during early childhood a child is developing various concepts which he implements and executes throughout his life if at this point his concepts are clear and has a targeted sort of thinking therefore then many problems can be countered which a child having weak cognition might suffer from.

Only if the employees’ are physically fit and importantly mentally motivated, they can optimally contribute their skill, knowledge and hard work for the success of the organisation. So, through performance management, the employees can be optimally motivated to provide optimal contribution. As part of performance management, the organisation, management, leaders and managers has to implement certain steps or strategies. These performance management strategies will surely elevate the employees’ motivation and make them productive. However, while implementing these strategies, there will certain pitfalls or problematic issues, which could hamper the strategies from reaching logical conclusion. That is, these issues will cause certain problems, which could make these strategies unsuccessful. So, although performance management strategies will lead to many positives for the organisation, there will be some difficulties in aptly implementing it, and this paper will examine this issue by focusing on the performance management strategies in each aspect of organisational functioning.Performance management refers to commitment by managers to achieve highest performance levels. Managers should take responsibilities to eliminate road blocks to success by providing sufficient resources and be careful in employee selection process as well as being ready to provide adequate rewards valued by employees (Cascio, 1996). The strengths of this argument are that women forced to leave the workforce are not really making a free choice but a forced choice due to the gender roles imposed by social expectations of women, inflexible working environments that expect the female worker as a “superwoman” capable of juggling family and career in a perfect life balance, and there is actually a choice gap that limits the options open to women. Weaknesses are those which limits interview sample to elite women only, full anonymity and use of fictitious names. It is also wrong to have a fully integrated life due to feminism’s expectations (Stone, 2007, p. 16).Based on the contrasting statements made by the two authors as to the real reasons why women opt out from the workplace and chose instead to be wives and mothers, I tend to agree with the argument made by sociologist Pamela Stone because she made a more convincing style of arguments based on the social and cultural expectations that women are natural mothers and so the real reasons why many well-educated and well-qualified women opt out is not discussed. Meanwhile, Elizabeth is not good enough for him: “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt ME” (Austen 14). Even though some tension appears between them, later it changes.Initially it seems that there are too many gaps between both couples. The most fundamental virtue for any type of relationship is respect but it can be gained in certain situations. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet failed it: “Your mother will never see you again if you do NOT marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you DO” (Austen 171). At first Lizzy also has little respect to Darcy because of "objections which made him prevent his friends marrying her sister … and the unfeeling manner in which he had mentioned Mr. Wickham, his cruelty towards whom he had not attempted to deny" (Austen 294). But the proposal at Hunsford is a crucial moment of a change in their story because Darcy’s emotions occur to be stronger than his pride, and he takes a chance to explain himself in the letter written for her. Additionally, Elizabeth’s refusal awakes humility in him and makes him get sure that she is not hunting for his money. As a result, they both find compatibility which Lizzys parents lack because Mr. Bennet cares for personalities of her daughters couples more than their financial state that is Mrs. Bennets priority.Furthermore, to Essay - The Legal Environment of Business | Subjects: Miscellaneous - College

The sky is clearer on the left background than any other part of the image. This indicates that the sun is either rising or setting on that side of the image. The left side of the river is darker from the foreground to background than the right side of the river. This is because the buildings on the left side of the river cast their shadows on the right side of the river bank. The buildings are not, however, tall enough to cast their shadows up to the ground the boats are parked. There are about fifteen boats on the right side of the river, which are painted white and blue. They all reflect the dim light of the sun, while casting their shadows on the water. The boats on the foreground reflect more light than the boats far away in the background. The left side of the river bank is steeper than the right side. This is the reason why no boat is parked on the right side of the river bank. In the middle of the image, there is a river. The water is clear and very still. Part of the water that is in the foreground reflects more light than the part on the background of the image. There are trees that are standing still on both sides of the river banks. The trees are evenly distributed on both sides of the river from the foreground to the background. The sky appears darker on the foreground than the background of the image. The background of the sky is yellow in color, indicating that more sunlight is casted into the sky on the background than the fore ground. The sun is either rising or setting on the background of the paper. This is the reason why the sky on the foreground is darker as compared to the background.A tent and a building are located on the right background of the image. They are not clearly visible due to the tall trees standing between them and the river bank. The sun is on the left middle ground of the paper, and the tall trees cast their shadows directly on the building and the tent, making them less visible

Essay - SLP - 3 Computer technology and the networked organization | Subjects: Business - Masters Henderson, a member of an affected farming family, describes the years before the storms came as a golden age ( 2001, page 15) In the 1930s though things changed dramatically. It became a period of scarce rainfall and high winds, both of which passed over the very light, over worked, soils of the region. The storms began in 1931. In 1932, as described by Ganzel (2003) 14 storms were recorded, and each year the number increased. Farmers however continued to plough and sow, destroying the established grassland. The drought which lasted from 1934 to 1937, affected 27 states according to Nelson (undated) and in the Dustbowl area poor farming practice meant that there were no longer plants whose roots had held the soil together. Black blizzards ensued, especially from the north. This was when the strong winds lifted the light, loose top soil and swirled it around into dense, choking dust clouds. In some area the dust was so dense it acted more like snow, forming high drifts, and even completely covering some farm buildings. The winds were so strong at times that they could move heavy trucks ( Hankel, quoted by Ganzel, 2003) with winds of more than 100 miles per hour.

This paper proposes a court system for the newly found Puerto Rico state. There are various weaknesses that could be acknowledged out of the current judicial systems and this is as documented by Griffin and Abbot (2006). Understanding the strengths and the weaknesses would undoubtedly go a long way in informing what should constitute a desirable judicial system. One of the strong points in Griffin and Abbot (2006) is that they develop a comparative approach to judicial systems, and this approach is advantageous because it does not only give examples of flaws in practice that should be addressed, but also some strengths that could be adopted, such as by newly established states.According to Griffin and Abbot (2006), U.S judicial system is constituted in a federal manner whereby each state within the federation has a different judicial system. Under the state court system, one is regarded innocent until proven guilty. This implies that the burden to prove one’s innocence lies with the state and not the person being accused. The system is made stronger because it is the responsibility of the state to find someone guilty thus making a person optimistic about their innocence prevailing. Another aspect of this judicial process is that, a criminal is assured of a fair, quick trial as well as enjoy the privilege of being judged by jurists. This means that not a single judge can decide on one’s fate as it is the case in other countries. It also implies that a person who is innocent has all the evidence evaluated prior to making the sentence. These elements are undoubtedly the strong points of judicial systems and inform any benchmark to constitute a desirable court system such as for a new established state. However, there is a limitation to this in the sense that much of the evidence may be suspended due to procedure. A cop collecting evidence must do so
